Unnamed

There is a small sculpture garden in front of the Children's Museum. I could not find the name to this piece. I found it to be a little disturbing for a children's museum.

Sorry if I didn't get to every one's blogs last night. I had problems getting into certain ones.

Yes, a little disturbing to me, too. I could just hear my kids now...."Um, mom...what is THAT?"

I agree that it's not the most cheerful greeter for the wee ones.

Yes, it's the stuff of nightmares really- interesting to see though ;-)

This is really weird and ugly and I agree it doesn't seem like it's the kind of thing that would bring joy to a little kid's heart! Strange.

Hope you have a great day!

It doesn't appeal to the child in me but some imaginative youngster might find it fascinating.

oh that's funny you say that because i immediately thought this sculpture was a little creepy, then to find out it's in a children's garden...probably gives the poor kids nightmares!

Strange and quite fascinating, but you are probably right about the the impact on the kids...

I also find it a little disturbing. Maybe most of the kids are tired of the museum and don't check out the outdoor exhibit?

Yep, that is a bit on the quirky side for children -- great shot.

Let me know if you are having any issues with my blog, Randy. Thanks.

That was my impression too. I pictured a child crying and running away. Cool statue though.

I would have to agree with you, it isn't somehting you would think of at a children's museum.

I does seem a bit odd for a childrens museum.

Wow, that IS . . . um . . . an unusual choice for a children's museum. Interesting, though.

I like it. Possibly a Kachina figure?

Being a child at heart, this is sort of disturbing...

The 'unnamed' statue is a little odd and slightly disturbing at the same time, it probably doesn't bother the children at all, they probably think it's very cool!

Yes unusual for a Children's Museum.

Very interesting and original.

I have to agree. Without the back story on this piece, I think it's a little dark.
