Watch For Uprising!

Just a few of the signs from Saturday's rally. I really like the yellow one. Wishing you all a great Monday!

SF Rally

Yesterday all 50 states held a "Rally To Save The American Dream" and to stand in solidarity with the people of Wisconsin. It was quite something to see and to hear all of the speakers. This young woman was kind enough to show me her sign that let everyone know that New Mexicans support the folks in Wisconsin.

Unexpected

The other morning we woke up to a surprise. Snow had fallen but only in small parts of the city. It was pretty light and fluffy and it didn't last long after the sun was fully out from behind the clouds.

Watching You Watching Me.

Ahh the end of another week and now it's time to rest. While out on my daily walk I saw these two women just enjoying the afternoon sun. Their dog watched the whole time I was taking the shot. As I walked away the three of them were watching other dogs playing in the park. Happy Friday!

Cold Turning You Blue?

Cheer up, Spring is almost here. Soon this bench will have people sitting on it enjoying warmer weather but not now. If you do you could end up with wet pants.

Snow Blanket

Now this young man was a few steps away from yesterdays sculpture. He is quite larger than his female counterpart and as you can see he keeps his snow blanket with him.

Ready For Warmer Weather?

So is she. This is another statue that is still floating Canyon Road. I thought she made a great shot with this little tuft of snow.

Washing My Mane

Well at least it appears that way. While walking by a gallery I caught sight of this icicle and as I moved around for the shot it appeared as those the icicle was touching the sculpture but it just missed it. Click on it for a better look.

#1149

I was drawn to this shot by the shadows from the tree and of course the Turquoise color of the windows trim. Happy Sunday everyone.

Sticks and Stones

I think this one kind of speaks for itself. Happy Saturday everyone!

White Reflection

I caught this reflection on a door just up the road from yesterdays post. It was actually quite accidental, I was focusing on the snow and adobe. I hope you have a fun weekend. Mine will be a three day weekend of playing catch up.

Not On My Dress!

I caught sight of this poor thing and her snow stained dress while on a walk along Canyon Road. A little sunshine should take it right out I think. Enjoy your day everyone!

Snow, Santa Fe Style

This is one of my favorite walls in town. I would love to see the home that lies behind it and the gardens in the Spring. This is one of the oldest parts of the city and one of the most expensive ones too. So for me it's like window shopping.

Frozen River

Most of our snow is gone but there are patches around town. Even the Santa Fe river is still frozen. I caught this one on my favorite walk down Alameda road.

Happy Valentine's Day

This is one of the windows at El Farol, Santa Fe's oldest restaurant and cantina on Canyon road. El Farol had Valentine's entertainment all weekend long. This was the first place I ate at when I first visited Santa Fe years ago and I love it still. Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!

Shadows

I just love the look of snow on adobe walls. I make it a habit to walk around town after a snowfall just to see what I can see.

Slippery When Iced!

This was the same day but on the way home. While the there wasn't much snow the wind was cold and the roads turned to ice by quitting time. It amazes me how fast people will drive on such slippery roads. Have a great weekend everyone!

Strolling With Her Buddy

While on my way to work yesterday I caught these two out on a stroll. Even though it was only 1 degree out I was wishing it was me that was walking with my buddy instead of heading to work.

Blue Sky Birds

I found this little treasure while walking down a street that I had not discovered yet. Don't you love those kind of moments? I don't think I would have the patience to create something like this.

Dog Tired!

I caught this cute little guy hanging out just in the door way of a gallery while on my walk on Sunday. I think he looks like I feel after a full day of work and an evening class. I need a little pick me up, hey look some ice cream!

How Mondays Can Feel.

On the way down the mountain I came across this poor tree. Who knows what knocked it down but when I saw the barbed wire lying on top of it the first thing that came to mind was "this is how Mondays can feel sometimes." Lets hope that is not the case today. Have a good week everyone.

Hike #7

There was still snow on the top of the mountain that added beauty when looking in the opposite direction from yesterdays post. There was even more on the way down on the shaded part of the mountain. Happy Sunday everyone!

Hike #6

Well after a few hours we made it to the top and the view was absolutely beautiful. The view included Santa Fe down below and in the far west the Jemez mountain range. As the clouds rolled it got colder so it was a short stay and it was back down the mountain to complete this 5.5 mile hike.

Hike #6

Well we made it! Just a few more steps to the very top but as you can see the view from here really makes the climb well worth it. Out in the distance is the northern part of Santa Fe. We got a little bit of snow the other day so I just might have to go on this hike again this weekend! Speaking of weekends have a good one everyone!

Hike # 5

Shortly after yesterday's steep climb I could see our goal, the top! There were a few more steep parts with more and more snow. Deep breath everyone we're almost there.

Hike #4

As the incline towards the top started the cloud timed their departure perfectly and lit this area perfectly. Almost to the top but there are more photos to come. Happy Wednesday.

Hike #3

You'll want to click on this one for a better view. While up on the Atalaya trail you can see Santa Fe to the west but if you look South of where I was you will see the Sandia mountains in the distance. It's the more round looking one. At the base of the mountain is Albuquerque which is an hours drive from here.
