Many Suns

Found near the Railyard gardens. I love the yellow ones but there is something beautiful about these.

Just a Little

The weather service projected that we would have rain all day starting with thunderstorms at 9am. It came finally in the afternoon but without the thunder or the amount of rain we hoped for. I guess a little is better than none at all.

Incoming

Monday was cloud hovered the city with the threat of rain. It came but not until late in the evening and boy did it come. This is the back of the Lewallen gallery on the Railyard.

Market Interpretive Dance

I caught these ladies outside of the Farmer's Market building a few weekends back. They and a few others inside of the building were dancing to advertise a performance the following weekend.

Almost Black

While at the Farmer's Market this weekend I saw these string beans that almost appeared black. Have you ever tried them before? I might just have to pick some up next weekend.

Roasting Chile

One of my favorite things is driving around town and breathing in the aroma of Green Chile being roasted. The Farmer's market is one spot where you can really get whiff. I live close to the market so on Saturdays if the wind is blowing just right I can smell it as I walk out my door.

Farmer's Market Flowers

Triangles and Reflection

This is the back side of a group of galleries on the railyard. I shot this through a doorway in the Farmer's Market building. Wishing you all a happy Friday.

Adobe Glow

The other evening when I had to attend an evening event for work I was walking downtown and caught the evening light. I thought it made for a nice glow on the old adobe wall of the Palace of the Governors.

Nice Ride

This bike was so clean it appeared as if no one rode it. After a while a couple rode off on these two bikes. Check out that seat.

Twirler

Something a little colorful for a patio or garden. I have another work event that I have to go to this evening. I will see you all on Wednesday.

Pink Power

It must be the hair color of the month. I've seen a few more around town after taking this shot.

Hollyhocks

On Labor Day Weekend we have an Art's and Crafts show on the plaza. I love the Kachina paintings in the background but I was drawn more to the hollyhock painting. Talk about a nice splash of color for your home.

Indian Market - Finale

This is my favorite of all of my Indian Market photos. I watched these two for awhile as they chatted and it was almost as if they thought my camera was a recording device. As I aimed my camera the conversation became secretive.

Indian Market XVII

I found this on the side of the IAIA (Institute of American Indian Arts). It was a from an old exhibit.

I won't be around today, I have to attend a work event tonight. See you all tomorrow.

This young woman was the dancer behind the Deer Dancer from yesterdays post.

Indian Market XIII

One of the cutest Deer Dancer's I think I have ever seen. This little group of dancers were from the Zuni Pueblo.

Indian Market XII

Just a small sample of some of the Turquoise jewelry that could be found at the market.
Get a load of that one on the end. Would you wear it?

Indian Market XI

At Indian Market there is more than pottery, jewelry and art. There is also some wonderful entertainment like Tony Duncan. A Native American flute player and hoop dancer. I wish I had captured a better shot of his vest.

To listen to some samples of his music click here.

Theme Day - Rust and Ruins

Theme Day here on City Daily Photo, this months theme is Rust and Ruins. This was taken on an old gate in my neighborhood. So many gates are painted and few are left natural as they age.
