Time for a Party!

This old caboose sits pretty close to my home in the railyard district. One day these wheatpaste photos appeared out of the blue. Must have happened while I was at work.

Speaking of parties, our beautiful state of New Mexico turned 100 years old yesterday. There was a big Centennial black tie ball here in town, no I did not attend. It was a little out of my price range. So today I will celebrate our states 100 years by taking a hike!

Those paintgs are nice.
Well...you can celebrate today...

Thank you for reading my poem.
It is about birth and dead…a lonely, poor woman gives birth all alone surrounded with misery and hunger, after a day’s work at the farm…During the night she has her baby but she is too weak, fragile…so she dies…
The sound of the church bells spread the news of her death…and people say” She’s in Peace, now…let that be so.”!

I hug you!

We passed the convention center on the way to Vanessie's for a great night of music. I wouldn't mind taking a whirl on the Ball's dance floor, though.

I love the art work on the caboose and I'll check it out on my way to the market this morning.

Congrats to Santa Fe on it's centennial, and it sounds like you found a perfect way to celebrate it Randy.

That's a fun way to decorate a caboose.

And I think a hike is a perfect way to celebrate NM's centennial.

Happy 100th!! I would rather do a hike than a black tie ball any day.

AZ's centennial is coming soon--Valentine's Day!

I'm sure there will be lots of events going on. Sounds like me (I'd opt for the hike, too)

Lovely photo!

I've been told to "take a hike" but it wasn't because of any celebration! ;-)

Have fun. Happy 100th! Re the pictures on the rr car: How does this happen? In the middle of the night?

Spooky!

What a fun way to spruce up an old caboose. Also quite an appropriate way to celebrate NM birthday, by enjoying the wonderful air on a hike.

Happy Birthday New Mexico.
