From War to Gallery

This horse has never seen battle although it is pretty rough in appearance. I found him in from of a gallery on Delgado Street which is off of Canyon Road. War Horse was exceptional, if you every get the chance to see the stage performance I strongly suggest it. Wishing you all a happy Friday!

War Horse

Tonight the company I work for will be sponsoring The National Theatre's original stage production of War Horse at the Lensic Theatre. This production will include life-size puppets by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company. I loved the movie and I am excited to see this presentation.

Bent

This poor tree is just old and tired. As many times as I have walked on this path I did not notice this until this past weekend. Maybe I am just old and tired too.

Wolf and Rider

Not the real name of this beautiful sculpture but it fits. I think it's one of the best one in the downtown area.

This is the last shot of this series. I shot this from the 2nd floor of the State Capitol or as we call it The Roundhouse. This was taken as people started to gather to hear some speeches.

This little girl was the darling of the whole protest. She was busy hold up her sign and she showed great patience with all of the photographers who wanted to take her photo. She also took time to tell people why she was there. A future education star.

Saturday I spent showing my support for the educators of New Mexico at the Take Back Our Schools Rally. The Governer as you can see is not a favorite of most here, including myself. I must also admit that her partner in crime the Secretary Designate is also pretty much hated around the state too. She came to us from Florida where her policies ruined the states system so she brought her policies here and people are not happy. Even the state of Tennessee  tried them and tossed them out.  Someone from Tennessee actually flew here on Saturday just to address to crowds and build momentum. Over the next few days I will be showing you some photos that I took at this rally.

A Happy Couple

I found this sculpture of a Native American couple just off of Canyon Road. My photo does not do this piece justice but I wanted you to see it.

There is a spot right outside of the plaza where you can find baskets,rugs and many things that tourist love. See anything you like?

Goya in Santa Fe

"This exhibition brings together for the first time prints and drawings by Spanish and other European artists working in Spain from the mid 16th to the early 19th century." This is exhibit is currently on display at the New Mexico Museum of Art until mid-March. From what I've been told Santa Fe is it's only U.S stop. I guess I better get over there during my lunch hour.

I finally had a chance to go back to the small park at the corner of Paseo De Peralta and Marcy street to get a photo of the sculpture I told you about a few weeks ago. This is a sculpture of Sante Fe artist Thomas Silvestri Macaione by MAc Vaughn.

Valentine's Day Weekend

This weekend the Lensic theater will be showing their annual classic movie Valentine's Day evening. Friday you have the chance to see Casablanca on the big screen ( a first for me). This year there will be a second classic movie on Saturday, The Wizard of Oz (not my favorite so I'll be skipping this one).

Watch Your Step

This is what the steps of the Federal Courthouse looked like a few days ago. Saturday the sun came out and melted the snow away. We desperatly need more moisture so I hope the snow will return soon. Until then it's time to start another week and work towards the coming three day weekend. Happy Monday all.

Cold Evening

When the weather is as cold as it has been lately downtown clears out pretty quick at 5pm. I shot this right after I left work. The building with the white trim on the right is City Hall.

Entry II

This is a second entry that I shot a while back. The space at the top of the stair is usually a publishing office and from time to time they will turn the space into an art bookstore.

Theme Day: Entry

It's the second Theme Day of 2014, and this months theme is "Entry." This is one of the many entrances in Sena Plaza. Sena Plaza is in downtown Santa Fe and full of many shops and restuarants.
