Many times I find the people more interesting that the event. I hope your kitty is doing better. Have you ever posted a picture of him/her? I wan't aware you had a cat. Sinbad says "meow" >^..^<
I think I enjoy the people more than the parade as the parade is so staged and anyone in it is posed to some degree. In the staging area you can catch the participants in more normal situations.
I was somewhere recently where I saw people walking along and east roasted corn like this. I've always found eating corn this way to be a bit of a messy process so I can't imaging doing it while walking on the street.

I've been catching up you latest post. What fun the parade must have been.
And they are all so colorful: bright skirts and wonderful hat!

a great time to celebrate together. :)
People watching is a favorite 'sport' of mine. Always a good time.
I find it fascinating watching people sometimes... What better place than a parade!
I didn't see the fourth at first, but they are all great!
People watching is fun. Looks as though they may make this an annual event to have a reunion.
