Snow Hike.

While hiking out in the snow the sun was going down and the snow suddenly had this blue tint to it. I was reminded of a quote that I once read by Andrew Wyeth, "I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape - the loneliness of it - the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it - the whole story doesn't show."

My Wyoming friend calls that the starkness of January. It is so purifying. Great post!

Beautiful photo...I feel a poem coming on! ;-)

Wyeth's words are interesting...but I do not prefer the dead of winter to the glory of spring, the warmth of summer and the brilliance of fall.

To each his own, however.

Hope you have a great weekend!

A. Wyeth is a wise man, and I think I'll take his words to heart. The blue tone fits with the quote.

Glad you got out hiking in the snow- it refreshes the spirit! I like Wyeth's quote. It's hard to pick a favorite season... I love them all, but tend to lean towards spring when there is new growth for a new year.
