Carved Door

One the artistic talents that wish I had some time to learn is wood carving. There are many New Mexico artists that are wood carvers. Sometimes you come across entire families of artist and it is interesting to hear about the past generations of carvers. I am not sure of the history of this door but it sure is one I would love to have in my home.

une couleur qui flashe, une porte originale

A typical blue, I would say, for that area. I like carved wood too. This is a pattern I've seen on Indian jewelry.

That's a good example of fixing up an entry way! Such artistic skill is beyond me, so I just enjoy what others do.

Re your comment on Ocala: You have to be careful at the flea market 'cause someone might "jeep" you! :-)

I love the blue doors. Hmmm, I wonder what they'd think at my apt complex if I painted mine ;)
A 3 day weekend sounds wonderful!

Cool door! I'm not so sure I would have painted it that blue color but it's still a cool door.

It would make a colorful addition to the Monday Meme Doorways. A true New Mexico shade of blue...very nice!

The carving as well as the color make this door a real piece of artwork!

That truly is a fabulous colour Randy, if I didn't have my red door..that's the other colour I'd really like.

It is very interesting when a family hands down a craft or skill from generation to generation. Love that blue!

Hey... Blue doors are normally a Versailles speciality! :-))
This one is very nice, like a turquoise Navajo piece of jewellery.

There's a color you don't find in New England and I loved that about New Mexico, so much color!

That can't be easy - but I guess that's why it is so cool.

Beautiful contrast between the blue door and the earth-coloured walls.
