This was the start of my climb to the top of Atalaya. As you can see by the sign the elevation to the top is 9,121. It is such a beautiful trail in any season.
I'm wondering how the bruises from yesterdays fall are Randy? This must be a walk that you really look forward to each year and is a super healthy way to start a new year..

Oh, this looks lovely...but cold!
It's obviously beautiful, right on the beginning!
Amazing scenery with all this snow. I imagine it's hard to walk! You are brave and very talented with your camera, thanks for sharing this image!
Léia

Great play of light and shadows!
belle photo de neige
The air is getting pretty thin at that elevation. But I'll bet the signs are superb.
Nice shot Randy.
How do you feel today? Fine and dandy, I'm hoping. Thanks for another good-lookin' blue sky day, even if it does look so cold!
OOh I must take that trail if I get down to SF this spring.
beautiful blues and whites and trees!
Hiking in the snow looks like fun. Almost snowshoe depth?
I've lived in Arizona way too long. I can't even imagine hiking in the snow. You are a hardy soul.
great shot!
Peaceful, fresh air, quiet. What more could you ask for.
Ouch! That's quite high!
Climbing it in snow must make it a rather magical experience - though you must've needed to step carefully (esp. with camera in hand:)!
9,000 feet is where the oxygen is rarer! But it looks like a great day for a walk! Did you get to the summit?
You must be in good shape. The air is rare at 9000 feet! Did you make it all the way? It looks like a beautiful day for a hike, though.
love those kind of workouts : )
WOW! More than 9.000 feet!
Wow beautiful!
Beautiful!
I would love to hike here! Wow what an elevation. You must have strong lungs Randy! =)
I love that beautiful, crisp looking sky!
Wow, it's not an easy trail!
What a beautiful tree. :)
I think I like snow !
Good for you, Randy. A hike to this location would be both fun and good for you.
It must surely be a bit nippy on that trail, but as one hikes the body temperature rises. Nice shot!
