Gate Shadow

Shadows are around us all day, everyday. Sometimes you see them and sometimes walk right by without a second thought. This time I got lucky and caught this decorative one.

Sometimes the shadow is more prominent than the object itself. Shadows are very important in painting and some just don't see them and leave them out but they make the painting.

That might be the best shadow you've ever caught on here!

Day late, and a dollar short, but I think I'll jump in the car this morning and go out for an early day shoot.

Yes, this is nice. I like the way the sun is slanting so the shadow ends up way below the gate.

When you're looking for shadows, be careful of shadowy people. One never knows what lurks "out there."

That is so true. Sometime a shadow just jumps out at you. This one is great.

Ooh yes, I like that. Like you say, sometimes they stand out and sometimes you just walk on by with other things on your mind.

Great shot! I have attended many classes and workshops but always open to learning something new. You teach without realizing it. Open my eyes.

Beautiful! The scrolling at the top leaves a calligraphy-like touch in the shadow.
