Rio Pueblo de Taos

This is the Rio Pueblo de Toas that runs through the Taos Pueblo. It orginates at the Blue Lake which is close to the Taos mountains highest peak. Your On My Land

Most of the horses on this part of the pueblo were all gathering around for the evening. As people were walking past this horse he just kept watching almost as to remind us, "Your on my land."

Taos Mountain

The "Taos Mountain" is part of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range. The most central part of the Taos mountain, seen here, is part of the Taos pueblo. I shot this as I was walking toward the pueblo on Christmas Eve.

Taos Pueblo Adobe

This shot was taken away from the main building of homes. It's probably not as old as the main structure. Most information states that the pueblo is approximately 1000 years old. In my opinion, it's all beautiful.

Christmas In New Mexico

For me nothing beats Christmas in New Mexico. I love all of the traditions, festivals and the food. I spent Christmas Eve in Taos, shopping and visiting my favorite restuarant. In the evening I went to the Taos Pueblo, it seemed like the whole city was there. On Christmas Eve you can see the Procession of the Virgin. You can read more about it here. This has become my favorite part of the season. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

Rhythm Of A Winter's Night

Bonfire

There were several small bonfires around the children museum grounds for folks to warm up while walking around. I took this shot through a large concrete water pipe. I was really surprised how it turned out. Have a happy Monday everyone!

Winter Solstice Festival

One of my favorite Winter events is held at the Santa Fe Children's Museum. There is drumming, hot cider, cookies and this labyrinth made out of Faralitos. It's a great way to welcome in Winter.

Hidden in Vines

I almost missed this one while walking by the other day because of the vines. I am not a fan of chain link fencing but I do like the horse head on the gate.

Winter's Light

I caught this the other evening on the way home. To me it was a perfect evening light. Yes, I had to shoot it while I was driving, we've all had those moments, right?

As The Weather Warms

Our snow is mostly gone with the exception of patches here and there. There are puddles everywhere and sights like this. It made for a nice contrast.

Our snow is melting away but I still have a few shots to share. I caught this one evening after work in the park across the street from my workplace. Everytime it snows you will always find a trail from someone who wanted to take the short route through the park.

Cold Seat

The weather has been warming up and snow on our roofs is melting which is making for some really nice icicles around town. I found these on a chair and the light really made you notice them if you walked by. Have a great Friday everyone.

Warm Adobe Home

This is one of my favorite homes. It's one of my favorites beacause it across the street from one of my favorite bookstores and down the street from Canyon Road. I like the way it looks with a little snow around it.

Winter Mornings

There is something so wonderful about Winter mornings. The colors seem a little more intense and the air is freezing cold but it's crisp and wakes me up better than a cup of coffee. I know, you coffee drinkers probably think "this guy is nuts." Enjoy your cup of java.

A Little Dusting

This morning the city woke up to a little dusting of snow. I shot this in my backyard. 

Making The Ordinary Interesting.

I think snow can make ordinary things a little more interesting. This is the back side of a building that I normally would not have not looked at twice. Maybe it was the combination of the coyote fence and the snow. Have a great Monday everyone!

Holiday Time On The Plaza

The temperatures at night have been really low. Friday night I went to a few gallery openings and I stop by the plaza for a quick shot. Made it back to my car before my ears fell off. Buuurrrrrrr.

Icey Don Gaspar

Don Gaspar street was a little hard to maneuver in a car or by foot the other day. Yesterday the roads were a little better downtown but the outer parts of town still had some slippery roads.

A Winter's Evening

Yesterday the day was filled with light snow showers until the evening began to fall. I love the ice that formed on my windshield and the view beyond it. It reminded me of this quote.

Winter or Spring?

While I love sitting on the plaza in the Spring I can't help but love what it looks like in the Winter with the snow.

Tabla de los Santos

This is one of many restuarants in town that I have not been to as of yet. Located in the St. Francis Hotel, Tabla is a local restuarant that specializes in Farm to Table cuisine.

Trudging Along

I thought this was the perfect shot for a Monday after 4 days off. Our snow is melting all over town so most of the city is pretty wet. I sure hope this work week won't be. Have a great day everyone!

Theme Day: Looking Out

Theme Day has come again and this month's theme is Looking Out. This photo was shot looking out from the Old Taos Highway here in Santa Fe. This was taking shortly before our big snow storm. The snow came down on the Sangre De Cristo days before it hit the city.

Winter Comes To Santa Fe

Yesterday Santa Feans woke up to over a foot of snow. We had a light dusting on Saturday but nothing like the snow that came in overnight. It's going to be a slippery commute to work this morning. Have a great Monday everyone!

Old Light

A second stop at the vintage shop in Dixon to make a purchase and I discovered another room. I love the view out of this window and and the old light from a car. Oh and in case your curious I bought and old wire basket.

I took a stroll down one of my favorite roads in Dixon and I found that they Tee Pee that I shared with you last year was still there.

Golden Floor

Outside of a ceramic artist house I walked on this golden carpet of leaves. This artist lives in the middle of an orchard.Don't you just love the colors of Autumn.

It's Safe Out Here

I found the most amazing studio hidden back behind an orchard and vineyard. These items were found close to the entrance of the house/studio.
