Spanish Market VI: St. Francis

This is the work of Pete Ortega. He is a Santero who carves the most amazing saints and angels. Happy Saturday.

We once had a sculpture of St. Francis in our garden. I like this one much better! Beautiful work!

Simple, but very expressive!

I believe I may have seen one of his pieces in a shop in Wickenburg. Very beautiful, but the price tag reflected that it was a "known" artist. This piece is lovely.
