Peace

It's the end of another year and I want to thank you all for sharing you wonderful photographs with me over the last year. In 2012 I wish you all many joyful memories, hundreds of smiles and peace that will fill your hearts and souls. Happy New Year to you and yours!

Snow Parking

Our snow is almost all gone down here in the city. The mountains still look beautiful and I hope to head up there for a hike during the long weekend. Today the weather is going to be in the high 40's so this parking lot will probably be reduced to mud.

Red Holiday Ristras

I love how they light up the Chile Ristras every year. I think it makes them a little more spicy. These were hanging along side of the Chiaroscuro Gallery on Canyon Road.

I love looking at holiday window displays. I am always amazed at things the window designers create. This window is from Curiosa on Canyon Road during the Christmas Eve walk.

Night Glow

On Christmas Eve, Canyon Road was full of beautiful light displays. So excited that I have today off before going back to work. I hope the joy of the weekend follows you through the week.

Merry Christmas from Santa Fe

To all of my friends I wish you all a very Merry Christmas full of love and joy. You are all the best gift any blogger could ask for. I shot this last night during the Canyon Road Christmas Eve walk. The road was full of carolers, Farolitos, bonfires and loads of Christmas cheer!

Christmas On The Plaza

The plaza is full of lights and Faralitos for the holidays. While walking down San Francisco street the other evening I caught the Basilica as it was being lit by the setting sun and street lights. It will be quite busy this evening with the Children's Mass followed by the Midnight Mass.

Christmas in Santa Fe

We have a wonderful book at our local bookstores called "Christmas in Santa Fe." It is a "rich cultural feast of Spanish, Anglo and Pueblo traditions," according to Amazon. It's funny but they always seem to sell out every year all over town. I caught this display at the Collected Works bookstore. Happy Friday everyone. If your traveling for the holidays be safe.

Morning Glow

I caught the sun trying to peak through the clouds on the way to work yesterday. There is snow in the forecast again for us. I hope it comes and stays through Christmas.

Path Less Traveled

The Winter storm that made national news left us with a little snow but not as much as predicted. I caught this while out on my walk. I was drawn to the shadows of the trees crossing the path.

The Perfect Gift

If your shopping for that perfect piece of Native American pottery you have to stop by the Andrea Fisher Gallery on San Francisco street. They represent many Native American artist from all of the pueblos here in New Mexico. It really is a treat even just to window shop. One day I hope to own a piece of my own.

Holiday Lights

While running around downtown yesterday evening trying to finish my Christmas shopping I found myself taking more photos than shopping. Otra Vez is a resort that offers vacation ownership. The location is only a short walk from the plaza.

The Adobe Photo Shoppe

The Adobe Photo Shoppe is a gallery and photographic retail store in the downtown area. I love browsing through the work of other photographers in their wonderful little shop.

Christmas On Delgado Street.

Looks like I caught a little of everything in this shot of an art gallery on Delgado Street with crosses Canyon Road. We have a bench for VP of Livorno Daily Photo. A Christmas wreath and some Faralitos or as some call the Luminarias on the roof which shine brightly at night. Some snow and a small hint of the sky in the window reflection.

Chile Wreath

Not only will you find wreaths made of Pine and branches but here you will find them made out of Chile peppers. I shot this a few weekends ago before at the Farmer's Market before the real cold weather set in.

Festive Trees

Just a few of the shops on Marcy street all decked out for Christmas. Do you have a favorite ornament that you put up every year? I have too many to list.

Hotel Chimayo

Hotel Chimayo is all decked out for the holidays. Located in the downtown area and within walking distance to the plaza. It's a great place to stay when visiting our city.

On the Mountain

Yesterday we took a drive to take in some of the beauty of the Winter. You can't help but notice this rock when driving down the mountain but this time I couldn't help but notice how it stood out because the snow melted from the warmth of the rock.

Shadow and Snow

During my brief but very cold walk along Canyon Road I caught this on the side of a gallery. The sun has been out for several days now and alot of our snow is already gone but I still have some shots to share with you. Happy Saturday.

Reflection

One of my favorite places to shop on the plaza is the Santa Fe Indian Trading Company. It mostly has tourist type merchandise but it's fun. I love their little Christmas tree in the front window. You can also see a reflection of the trees on the plaza and the evening sky.

On my short and I mean short walk (it was so cold) to capture some snow shots, I came across this cactus with a little snow still on it. I was careful not to get too close.

And It Came Down

Before I left for my class the snowflakes were small and not really a threat on the roads. This was the scene on Old Pecos Trail three hours later on my way home. It made me long for some Mexican hot chocolate so I headed straight home.

Today is the end of another 16 week class for me. I hate speaking in front of people so I am nervous as all heck already but I am happy for the journey and what I learned. Time to kick back, well at least for the next four weeks and then it's on to something new.

I caught this in an artist home garden. I don't think I would have the patience to create this.

A Clear Path

The snow finally came to Santa Fe but not as much as the forecasters warned us about. It was enough to get me in the holiday spirit. By days end the snow started to fall again so we'll see what the new day has to bring. Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.

# 20

Everyday I take a walk as part of my lunch hour. My walk takes me along the railroad tracks and the other day I looked up as the RailRunner was making its way towards me and I caught this small sign with the number 20 on it. I love the way it looked against this naked tree. Click on it for a better look.
