Recycled Art Festival I

I almost forgot to share some of the photos I took at the Recycled Art Festival. This first piece of art work is by Lane Patterson. How would you like to have this Cowboy lamp in your home? Covered

This is one of my favorite views as you drive down from the Sangre De Cristo mountains. All the yellow leaves are gone and part of the mountain had snow on it this weekend. I miss the colorful Aspens already.

Barely Hanging On

I saw these two leaves hanging on for dear life at the end of a couple of branches and it reminded me of ME so I decided to post it. I also loved the shadow too.

Speaking of hanging on. Today is the last full day of my class and I have to spend the week prepping for my final on the 5th. I wanted to let you know that I might not be able to stop by your blogs everyday. I will do my best to keep up but I didn't want you all to think I have forgotten you. Upstairs

The Webster Collection a gallery near the plaza is currently showing a wonderful photography exhibit by various photographers who had taken photographs of Frida Kahlo and her artist/husband Diego Rivero. It really is something to see. Check out the link.

I like the look of this sculpture. I didn't get the name unfortunately there were alot of tourist around waiting to take a shot. This is from the archives. Just so no one thinks we still have flowers blooming. Happy Tuesday.

Gone Overboard

As you will remember from Saturdays post I went to the Clay Fair. I told myself that I would add a new piece to my collection. Well to say the least and as you can see I went a bit overboard. I've added 5 new tiles to my ever growing collection! Do I have buyers remorse you might ask. Heck no!

I was out and about shopping when I caught sight of this reflection in the mirror.

Speaking of shopping it's that time of year for the Clay Fair. My favorite tile artist Kathleen Koltes will be there. You might remember the last ones I bought. Who knows what I might will come home with.

Nothing New

Someone asked if I went back to see how the empty canvas in yesterdays post was developing. After making several passes along Canyon Road the only thing I saw was people sitting around and talking with the artist. After the third pass I just moved on to see the other artists.

Just the Beginning

I captured this mostly for the light and the colors on the palette. If you could paint like any artist whose art work would yours resemble? I would like to paint like Amedeo Modigliani.

What Weekends Are All About, Fun!

I love this sculpture. I found it in an area on Canyon Road that I have only ventured to a few times. It's the perfect reminder that we need to not take ourselves so serious all the time. It was a great reminder of what it was like to be a kid and just have fun. I hope your weekend plans include a little fun. This is what I am doing for fun today.

Sky Reflection

I love a surprise don't you? At first sight I wasn't too thrilled with this shot until I saw the reflection of the sky and trees in the sculpture. This was taken during the Canyon Road Paint Out. So happy that I have a three day weekend starting today. I hope you all have a great Friday!

Fall Flower

Before the cold weather came along these little flowers were popping up everywhere. This little field is in front of my workplace. Turns out they are called Cowboy Daises. I kind of like that name.

Nude Reflection

I was standing just outside of the door of Elysee when I caught sight of this display and the reflection it was casting on the wall. Elysee is a fine art and jewelry gallery on Canyon Road.

In the Sky

Sunshine Shadows

I shot this a few weekends back but I thought I would post something bright and cheerful. Now today we have a 50% chance of rain followed by a 50% chance of snow late in the afternoon. Here's hoping the forecasters are wrong. Here's to good week for everyone!

Time to Reflect.

I caught this one while walking downtown. Talk about a coincidence. Well not matter how you choose to reflect today I hope it's a great day for you.

Oh by the way we had snow here most of the morning so no Dixon Studio tour for us today maybe tomorrow.

Garden Art

At La Mesa of Santa Fe on Canyon Road you can find these marvelous ceramic sculptures by Minnesota artist Russ Vogt. He is a painter as well as a sculptor. Click on the links for La Mesa or Mr. Vogts' website.

Another Door

The door closes on another week (thank goodness). This is one of my favorite doors on Canyon Road. It's the entrance to the Adobe Gallery. Wishing you all a fun filled weekend. I am off to Dixon, NM for another Art Studio tour!

Rust and Red

We have a Coyote fence on both sides of our condo. Our neighbor also has this plant that is climbing over our fence. I love the way the leaves change to this almost Fire Red in the Fall. Happy Wednesday.

Theme Day: Fences

It's the first of the month and that means Theme Day! This month's theme is Fences. Here in New Mexico you will see fences on farms, Adobe fence around homes but one of my favorites has to be the Coyote fence like the one behind the sign. They are very popular here and they can be seen all over Santa Fe.
