Beauty In Stone

I was out walking around the plaza the other day and stopped when I saw this window display at Ortega's On The Plaza. So many beautiful things, not enough money. Maybe that's a good thing.

Gorgeous jewelery Randy, do you think I can remember the name of that stone, I have some..but my mind is blank (some would say 'as usual' haha), will look back later and see if someone has mentioned what it is.

Since I've been following your blog, Randy, I've been drawn to this kind of jewelry again! But you're right... expensive. Last week I bought a fake turquoise ring in this style just for fun. :) My daughter and I are sharing it. I also took out the turquoise butterfly bracelet my father bought me the time we drove through Arizona so long ago... and wore it after so many years!

What a great picture. Beautiful things. As my husband says, "Everything I see is mine, for I have the pleasure of looking at it same as the person who owns it. So I am always a wealthy man."

:)

Beautiful turquoise. Is Indian jewelry making a comeback in popularity?

This photo REALLY caught my eye. Of all the shops around the plaza, Ortega's certainly is my favorite. I have spent many hours outside the window, fantasizing about owning some of its merchandise. Sigh!

If these rare stones, so it will be expensive jewelry. I could not afford them all. I admire both photo and art jewelry maker. Nice day wishes Peter.

Turquoise is a wonderful stone and the Native Americans really work wonders with it!

I think I would buy the turquoise in your picture before I would ever consider buying the one in my picture today.

Turquoise jewelery is so eye-catching! In Tibet they mix it with amber and coral which is, in fact, a great combination.

Ever since we lived in Arizona I've loved turquoise jewelry...I had one neck thingy made of it and that's all. Sad story!

I love turquoise jewelry, and the color is my favorite.. I was a silversmith in NM when I was in my very young 20's.

What gorgeous turquoise!

One of the good things about turquoise and silver Indian jewelry is that it is available at multiple price points. Don't have much money and just want some costume jewelry? You've got it. Want fine jewelry with thick silver and higher quality stones? You can have that, too.

Not a big fan of turquoise to wear, but do enjoy the colors and shapes.
