Armed

Here is something interesting that I found in the Railyard area. I think it was one of those wheatpaste decals that I have posted before. He looks pretty threatening with that automatic weapon. I hope this week isn't a threatening one. Have a good one everybody!

I'm not sure about the message, Randy, but I doubt that it's one that would warm the cockles of one's heart. I guess I'm a little surprised at the militant nature of the image. Doesn't square with my own image of Santa Fe.

It looks very out of character to me.

I have seen quite a few of these decals pasted around town and also on the reservations up north but none like this one.

Reminds me of Wounded Knee! Vigilent is the word that comes to mind.

Randy I have read and enjoyed all your posts that I missed while I was on my trip. Always fun to see what you come up with!

I like the Native, but I don't like to see him with the weapon. It makes me think about the white men trying to make them look threatening...

Fascinating! And there's a message here. The latest in weaponry always finds its way into everyone's hands ... of course, the U.S. being the largest suppliers of arms around the world doesn't help!

Super photo!

It would be very cool without the gun.

Just doesn't quite fit Randy, people do the oddest things oui!

Like Kate, I have mixed feelings about this. What should the message be? Why a threatening Native-American? I want to stay with the old image, carrying a tomohawk but better a peace-pipe.

You're right, it's a threatening image. I hope my week isn't that way. Thanks Randy. Have a nice week. =)

Strange. Looks more like a cross between Homeland Security 1890 and 2000 than 1492...

Rather ominous!

Quite effective in that particular place, Randy.

I'd like it without the weapon.

Threatening is right! What an unusual concept. Hope your week is going well also. How did the project end up? Did I miss you telling us about it?

Yikes... yup, I don't care for guns. I do like the idea of painting/decaling utility boxes w/ art though.
Hope your week is off to a great start, Randy.

I find this funny and I am incapable to see all these dark implications about the modern rifle. It is probably only some sort of humour based on an anachronism...
