Protection

This young woman was protecting herself from the sun. It's not a bright color but I couldn't miss it as she walked by.

cette ombrelle donne un petit cote colonial a cette photo

With all the rain we've been having here she'd be well-equipped here, too! ;)

Love the contrast of the colors on both of them. Such a nice photo.

What is it about umbrellas that make them so appealing?

What really attracked my attention was that fantastic porch.

That is certainly not a bad idea. People do that here, too. It's a cool photo. Nicely composed and the white umbrella gives it just the right punch!

Only tourists do that here, but probably there is another thing...

I see alot of Asian women in Toronto who do this. Didn't know it was catching on in the US as well. :)

Very sensible too Randy, coming from a hot climate also (well not at the moment!) we see a lot of umbrellas in summer.

You see more and more people (women) carrying umbrellas in the sun! Love that adobe.

We're using umbrellas for the pouring rain at the moment, lol!

What I like about umbrellas too is that define my space and I can invite someone into that space if I like. :)

When I was in South Africa recently, many young native women carried umbrellas in the sun. Apparently paler skin is considered attractive.
