Peaceful Sunday

First let me wish all of you moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day. I hope you have a very peaceful and fun filled day. I was in Albuquerque yesterday and shot this as I was walking down Central (Old Route 66). The most exciting part of my day was at the end. I was having dinner at a restaurant and two guys decided to rob the place at gun point. It was all very quite and the young woman at the register just handed over the cash and they were out the door. Most of the people in the place including myself had no idea this was happening until it had ended. Ever had that feeling that you should have stayed home? On another note, I am down the to the last few days before my project is due. Please forgive my absence on your blogs during this time. I will try but can't promise that I can visit. I will still be posting so please stop by. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Very colorful. Good you didn't know because a robbery can be very scary.

Thank you for the mother's day wishes and no problem on being absent--we all need a break once in a while.
That must have been a little scary, even after the fact!
I wonder if the robbers stopped at this place next, they probably thought a "pot o'gold" was waiting for them!

Lots of color in that one! Great art work.

first, that is the brightest 'peacefulness' i've ever seen.

second, at least they only robbed the restaurant and not the patrons, too! eek!

Love this photo. It would look great on the side of my barn : ) Albuquerque is one exciting town isn't it? I lived there for a few years and it was a few years too many. Love to visit though.

That is weird. Just think if you had snapped a photo of the crime in action...your blog post would make the world news scene.

I like the colors here. I've seen lots of murals in Alb. Hope all goes well with your project.

Good luck on your project. I have never been that close to a robbery, and I want to keep it that way.

What a perfect sign...or mural...or whatever. It's awesome. So glad the situation was handled calmly and no one was hurt.

What an experience! Glad it was handled calmly.

I know the feeling, it happened to me twice in Rio de Janeiro. The first time I even heard gunshots although I haven't even seen the guys.

Oh wow Randy, lucky they were so quiet about it, if anyone had caused a panic it could have been a very different outcome..scary much!!

Geez Randy!! That is crazy. Glad they didn't go more psycho than they already were. That is frightening. Clearly, they did not see this sign.
