Don't you just love puffy white clouds? It's coming on monsoon season here in New Mexico and we're seeing more and more days like this.

Pink Ride

Every now and then I see this pick bike cruising around town. The other day I happen to see it after it was cruising around the plaza.

Saturday Night Concert

Saturday I was fortunate enough to see a legend in concert. At the age of 66, Emmylou Harris puts on quite a show. I hope I have that much energy and class when I reach that age. I just might have to make a run to Arizona in September to see her again. It would be worth the trip. It's not that great of a shot, I had to sneak it with my iPhone. Happy Monday all.

Dog Day Afternoon

The other day while sitting in the plaza I saw this handsome pup walking in my direction.  It was fun to watch him enjoy the park and the people who walked by.

Poppies

Poppies are blooming all over town right now. This little patch can be found near La Casa Sena, a local restaurants with great patio seating that will let you take in the beauty of the nearby gardens.

With a Song

What's a Farmer's Market without a little music. Lucky for us, there is always a few people singing or playing music.  This trio had a great sound but then I am a sucker for mandolin music.

Blue Corn

In the next booth I found a vendor selling different kinds of organic seeds. Blue Corn anyone?

How do you like it?

At the Farmer's Market there is an assortment of vendors who sell chile. This vender had dried red chile that can be used for a variety of dishes. One of my favorite happens to be Breakfast Enchiladas with Red Chile. A little bacon, eggs, wrapped in a flour tortilla with melted cheese and red chile.

Rent Me

When you come to visit our beautiful city there are many ways to get around. Most visitors walk around, some ride the bike-taxis. If your wanting something a little faster you can always rent one of these scooters. I might just have to try one someday.

It's Happy Hour Somewhere!

If you like beer you would love Santa Fe Brewing Company beer. I was living in Phoenix when I tried it for the first time and I was hooked. I caught this delivery truck at one of their downtown stops yesterday.  Wishing everyone a very happy Friday.

Taking a Break

While walking through the plaza yesterday I caught sight of these two firefighters waiting for their fellow teammates.  They must have been at lunch because there was nothing going on at the plaza.

As for our two fires they have both burned over 9,000 acres as of last night.  The mornings are pretty smoky here in town but by mid-day you can walk around outside until it comes back.

Swallowtail Butterfly

Yesterday I was walking by the Basilica and I saw this beautiful Swallowtail butterfly fly by. I watched for it to stop and I was lucky to catch this shot before it flew off.

And The Work Goes On

The work on La Fonda is still going on. I am sure they probably wish it was done in time for tourist season, too late for that. Maybe it will be done before Spanish Market next month.

Prayer Flags

I found these colorful prayer flags out side of The Ark bookstore which is close to my house. It is a New Age/Spiritual bookstore that carries everything from books,music and things for your home.

Speaking of prayers, our thoughts go out to the firefighters who are fighting the two fires to the East and West of us. One first has already burned over 6500 acres. Needless to say smoke is everywhere. No rain in sight but we can hope it comes soon.

This is a film crew that was busy filming across the street from my work. A few towns in Northern New Mexico have been the filming locations for the A&E show Longmire and Santa Fe is one of them. New Mexico has been used for the backdrop for many movies and shows.

Last week while walking by the plaza I caught sight of these three taking some time out. The little guy next to the bench was the only on that was ready to go.

Big Smile!

While at the Farmer's Market the other day I saw this little guy walking around. When his owners stopped at a booth I waited for him to look my way. When he did it was like he knew I was going to take a shot so he shot me his cutest smile and I could not resist the shot.

Ten Thousand Villages

One of my favorite places to find gifts is Ten Thousand Villages. Here is a small description from Wikipedia "Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit fair trade organization that markets handcrafted products made by disadvantaged artisans from more than 120 artisan groups in more than 35 countries."

Blue Corn

I love this wall and gate. These people choose blue corn as their decoration of choice. Do you have a gate? If so, what's hanging from it?

I was on my way to a small concert on Canyon Road when I caught sight of this sculpture in someones yard.

I Know

The semester is over and presentations are done. I saw this little guy hanging out in the doorway of a gallery yesterday and all I could think is "I know how you feel." I could sleep for a week. I hope you all have a great Friday.

The other day as I was walking back to work when I heard this little guy bark. He was not happy about being left in the truck. Luckily it was not a hot day.

Rainy Reflection

Yesterday we received some much needed rain. There wasn't a lot but hey we'll take what we can get. I caught this reflection outside of a bookstore. Wishing all of the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day.

Gaudalupe Cafe

Another of my favorite breakfast spots is the Guadalupe Cafe. Now that the weather is warming up you will see people sitting outdoors enjoy their meals. Now if I stop there for lunch there is nothing I like more than their Chicken Burrito with Green Chile and Cheese on top.

Friday has arrived and it's time to think about the weekends activities. The owner of this Harley will probably take a nice ride. Perfect weather for it. Happy Friday everyone.

That is just another name for our State Capitol building and this is just one side of it. And as you can see it's really is round and that is how it got it's nickname.

Clouds have been hanging around for the last several days. I was standing on the corner of Paseo De Peralta and Alameda and this was my view.

I won't be able to visit everyone's blogs tonight. My workplace is sponsoring an event for the high schools here in Santa Fe and I am looking at a 12 hour day. See you on Thursday.

This marble sculpture sits on the grounds of the state capitol and is part of the Capitol Art Collection. The artist David Hyde from Oregon and is of Nez Perce and Chippewa decent.

Just Me.

The last shot I took at the Outdoor Vision Fest was a self portrait. Some light shows were so large that before you knew it you ended up as part of the exhibit.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who visited even though I couldn't visit your blogs without my internet service. You don't know how much I appreciate you.

Kind of fuzzy

I'm back online! Over the last few days there has been a chill in the air. The big winter storm that everyone said was heading out way passed us by. Even with the chill there were people all over town. I could not resist the shot when I saw this woman and her fuzzy vest walking across the street from where I was standing.

Canyon Road Gallery

Sorry everyone but I have no internet service again. I am posting this from work, shame shame. This is one of my favorite little adobe buildings on Canyon Road. The Dominique Boisjoli has some wonderfully colorful art that would brighten up any home.

May Theme Day: The Creative Artisan

Theme Day has come again and this month's theme is "The Creative Artisan." With the warmer weather there have been people outside capturing the new colors of Spring. I saw this artist who was out painting and instead of washing his brushes he just wiped them on his pants. Maybe it's a new kind of wearable art.
