Painting in the shadows. It's all about the light I guess. Just like photography but not as easy.
I have a work event this evening so please excuse my absence if I don't visit tonight.

Photography isn't easy, at least not good and interesting photography. This painter seems to know what he is doing.
I like to paint in low light while looking at a bright subject. My colors tend to stay brighter while if I paint in bright light, I have to be careful to keep them bright. I think my eyes adjust to the light and I let things go darker. I have an umbrella for painting outdoors.
I really love the shadows of those leaves in this shot. Quite an effect.
He has lots of warm colors in that painting.
Lovely is as the artist brushes!
He is doing good, and I like shadow...
he's painting good color in the shadows. :)
You're right about light. I'd guess it's easier to get the colors right if you're painting in the shade rather than the sun.
It looks like he used a canvas to make his own shade.
Like how he's using an old canvas for shade.
He seems to know what he is doing, Randy!
I note that he's wearing a brimmed hat, so perhaps he finds it easiest to paint with his eyes shaded.
While painting in the sun or shadows, a hat would be a prerequisite for me.
You are offering us endless treats!
Standing in the shade is a very good idea and he's concentrated! Enjoy your event tonight!
I admire the ability to paint. Wish I had that talent!
I'd say the artist is just staying out of all the nice Sunshine you have there in Santa Fe.
I love watching an artist do their thing :)
You had so many artists to photograph at this event!
Light and shadow. . .both elements of painting and photography.
