Canyon Road Cricket

This is from yesterdays walk along Canyon Road. I think it's a new addition or I have just been blind to it. He also came with his own parking spot.

Phoenix and back.

Well I am back and I would first like to say Thank You to all of you who commented on my posts for the days that I was gone. I just made me smile to see all of those comments, you are the best! This shot is from my trip to Phoenix, I was headed to one of my favorite spots for a quick bite and thought I would snap a photo while traveling up Central Avenue. I hope you all had or are having a great weekend and thank you again.

Pink Poppy

Canyon Road is full of flowers right now and I was lucky to catch these Pink Poppies on my daily walk. These were the first of the season for me. I will have to visit another spot that has some amazing red ones when I get home. Have a peaceful Sunday.

White Buffalo

Well actually White and Chrome. This is a new sculpture on Canyon Road. I am not sure of the artist but the style reminds me of the Rock, Paper, Scissors sculpture from a post I had on here last year. Happy Saturday!

Evening Sunset

As I was out walking the other evening I could not help but notice how the sunlight lit up this home and great Turquoise colored fence. I love the evenings in my city. I hope you all have a great Friday and wonderful weekend.

Which Way To Phoenix?

I shot this the other day while out on my way home knowing that I would be headed to Phoenix today. I was supposed to be flying but I just got screwed by Southwest Airlines so now I am having to drive the 8 hours to Phoenix and 8 hours back on Sunday(ok enough of my rant, sorry I just found this out). I will try to get to everyone while I am gone but if I don't please excuse my absence. I have everything set to auto post until Sunday. I hope you'll stop by.

Found Beauty

While out on my evening walk I spotted this Iris along Canyon Road growing next to a telephone pole. Happy middle of the week! Today is my Friday so I am a happy guy.

Chives and Fish.

I was drawn to this table yes mostly because of the color of the blanket used as a table cloth. Chives were all over the market this weekend. I am sure the little bunny would have loved these.

Loving The Wind In My Hare!

This little cutie pie was hanging out at the Farmer's Market with her owner. She was so good. She stayed on her little blanket and just let everyone pet her. Hoping this little one starts your week with a smile.

A Head Above The Rest.

Yesterday I was listening to a young man playing a violin at the Farmers Market. I turned around for a second and this woman stood in the space in front of me. At first I didn't notice her bird until he moved. I think he liked feeling like he was as tall as a majority of the shoppers. Happy Sunday!

Adobe Shadows

May with Snow!

Click on the photo for a little better view. Yes the white stuff on the mountain tops is our old friend snow. It was quite the surprise it rain a little and even more so as I left work and saw the snow on the mountain tops. Wishing you all a great weekend full of surprises!

Following A Cold One.

One of my favorite beers is made right here in Santa Fe at the Santa Fe Brewing Company. The other day I found myself right behind one of their vans. Advertisements on vans sure do work. It's almost Friday!

Lines

I was drawn to this shot but the lines in the shadows and those echoed by the Farmers Market building next door. This the entrance to the Tai Gallery in the Railyard district.

Class is Excused!

I survived! As I was leaving the campus yesterday I saw this beautiful evening sky. I love the views from the college.

My New Tile Trio

These three are now part of my collection from one of my favorite ceramic artist. I am slowly collecting these to make one large piece. With these I now have eight tiles. Here is a little biography on Kathleen Koltes from the Museum of New Mexico Foundation:

"The ceramic work of Kathleen Koltes is functional yet highly decorative. The processes that she uses on her stoneware clay include silkscreen, stamping, drawing and painting. Her recent works have been inspired by the portraits of Modigliani. A consistent theme in her work is derived from plant forms - the result of years as a professional gardener. Kathleen constantly looks for images to use on her ceramics. Ususally, the quirkier, the better! She has been a ceramic artist for 13 years and has lived in Santa Fe for the past 4 years. She has a BFA in Fiber Arts from St. Cloud University in Minnesota."

Eldorado Studio Tour

Eldorado, about 10 minutes east of Santa Fe had their art studio tour this weekend. Yesterday before heading off to the Media lab I had to stop and make a purchase and a couple of my favorite ceramic studios. Tomorrow I will post the new addition to my collection.

The End

Like the end of a train the week has come to an end thank goodness. This caboose sits near a new bike trail in the railyard area.

I am down to the last three days of my project before Monday's finals. I have stuff on auto post for the weekend. I will try to stop by but if I don't I will be back on Tuesday.

Tease

We were supposed to get some much needed rain yesterday. Unfortunately we only got a few sprinkles that just spotted up my windshield. Maybe another day.

Happiness can be found everywhere I guess. I found mine on a garbage can while walking in a new part of town. I hope your Monday is a happy one.

Sleepy On Sunday

Meet Page, she is my youngest and a real big daddy's girl. So much that we have to have at least 30 minutes of playtime before I leave for work during the week. Yesterday she was a little worn out from her usual 60 naps a day. Wishing all the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day.

I love the old gate on this building and by the look of the adobe at the corner of the wall the building must be alot older.

Hey Did You Hear The One...

Behind the Gate.

Caught this one while out on my daily walk. The days are warming up and things are in bloom all over town.

** My final project for my class is due soon and I am having to spend a good part of the next few weeks in the computer lab. My visits are going to be a little sporadic so I want to apologize in advance. I will try to catch up as I can.

What? No Adobe

In Madrid a old small mining town just south of Santa Fe you will still find old homes like this. Most are not this bad. Some have been refurbished and made into art galleries.

Friends Walking Friends.

It was pretty cold on Sunday and we even had some snow fall in the evening that did not stick around. Prior to the snowfall I was out for my walk and caught a photo of these two walking their buddies.

Wheatpaste Photoshow

Last Friday Warehouse 21 and Axle Contemporary hosted a giant Wheatpaste Photoshow by Anne Staveley. The photos were going up slowly during the week but I didn't get a chance to go until yesterday. To see photos from the show on Friday check out this link.

Theme Day: Mailbox

It's Theme Day once again on City Daily Photo. This month's theme is "Mailbox." I thought I would share my favorite trio of boxes. They sit next to my favorite tree which are on the highway between Santa Fe and Taos. Happy Sunday everyone!
