While out on a hike over the weekend I came across this spotted leaf that caught my eye. While trying to focus on it I was surprised by the bright red stem. Interesting looking lifeline.

The moving of one form to another. Soon, it will part of the earth, time passes and then nutrient for the tree once again. Cool.
It's as if the plant is pumping blood into the leaf in a last ditch effort to save it.
