During the fall the Santa Fe Ski Basin offers free ride to the top of the slopes so that people can view the changing of the Aspens. I decided to take the long walk up and boy am I paying for it. It is a great view from the top and well worth the work out.

What a colorful view in the fall! After seeing your hiking ability I know that you will not have any trouble some day in getting to the top of Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, and of course La Tour Eiffel. Those should be a breeze after the hike you took!

Randy, glad you did it! Great photo of the fall color & mtns! One of the things I love about hiking is the amazing view from atop mountain peaks... well worth the effort! I didn't get up there this weekend, but am hoping to get in one more trip up the mountain before all the leaves fall. I can see from town that they're still hanging in there! Hope your week is going well~

Beautiful view! I went to the top at the Snow Bowl one fall but I took the lift up and walked back down. I didn't get winded that way but, wow, did my knees feel it the next day.
Beautiful scenery, but I would have had to take the lift...maybe I could hike down.

A friend and I were up there on Sunday. We were wimps and took the lift up and back. Gorgeous aspens. Now I'm home in Texas. Maybe we will have the pretty foliage here as well before too long.
