When travelers were waiting for train in the old days benches sure were not made for comfort. You had your choice of this concrete bench outside of the wooden ones inside. I probably would have eaten more to make sure I had some extra cushion for those long waits.

Pillow needed !!! :)
True they don't look to confy for a long wait.
Sounds good to me Randy, any excuse to eat more is ok by me haha!
If you weren't a hard-ass when you sat down you sure would be by the time you left.
Cool photo with the light and people.
At least you can lay down on them. Although they probably get cold too!
Interesting photo because of the arches. So glad that the station hasn't been changed at all.
In the winter it would be like sitting on a block of ice! Tough folks out Lamy way!
Well, they'll last a long time at least.
I'd say you wouldn't want to arrive at the station too early.
I think life was hard all around in the old days. This is a nice looking spot though.
It was time to get another nice bench from New Mexico!
I would end up with a seriously sore bum then!
Or you could sit on your suitcase...
certainly couldn't sit long if you were a hard a$$. :)
Ciel de Quimper got the right answer! :-)
Ya - not sure benches are supposed to last FOREVER.
Not made for sitting, but eating more always sounds good to me! I like the way you framed this. (Hope you make it to NYC, such a crazy, magic city:)
Great shot! I guess they never had to worry about replacing those benches - nothing could damage them.
i imagine that would be hard and cold...bring a cushion!
I like the composition of this photo. Not sure I'd want to sit very long on those benches though.
I had a friend who lived in Lamy and we would grind our skateboards on this bench a lot. That's where all the black on the edges come from
My butt hurts just looking at this photo. :-)
These are cool to sit on on-hot-days !
I like the composition here!
