Reading Outdoors

There are many pleasures in life. Good food, a nice glass of your favorite beverage. For some it might be a bike ride, cruising town in a convertible. And then there is Art, Music and for this guy it was reading. I love to read but this year I seem to nod off after work and visiting your blogs (Lord knows I won't give that up!) and homework. I am curious, what is your favorite book or what are you currently reading now. I am trying to start "An Object of Beauty" by Steve Martin. For you readers please don't wait for my review. It could be a long long time.

I love reading Randy, but like you it's usually late at night and a couple of chapters and I'm gone. I'm reading Wilbur Smith's Egyptian series just now, second book The Seventh Scroll, loving it, we went to Egypt last year, awesome experience!

I don't have a favourite book, but a favourite writer: Oscar Wilde.
I'm reading only technical books, too boring to be mentioned.

Odd enough, I am reading a mystery written by a Santa Fe based writer, Michael McGarrity's "Under the Color of Law" and the Guide of...Japan:)

I'm reading an Agatha Christie book. I recently discovered the Gutenberg project and am enjoying some of the "classics" for free.

That is a great question! Just picked up 'Desert Solitaire' by Edward Abbey and 'Blue Highways' by William Least Heat-Moon. Non fiction is my usual choice with adventure and travel themes.

I like this shot. I would like to know what do you think about Steve Martin's book.
I am an avid reader.
I'm reading Alain De Botton " The Pleasures And Sorrows of Work" and Tod Volpe " Framed".

I think my favorite book that I've read recently is "Three Junes" by Julia Glass. I read it about 3 or 4 years ago and thought it was wonderful and I re-read it just a few weeks ago. It is so beautifully written.

Also nice, nice pictures like last time. I always like to read. Even as a little kid and when I should sleep. Parents are off the light and I also read the torch under a blanket. Today, I have little time to sit down at the book. Thanks for the pics ... Peter.

I used to call myself a reader, but these blogs do take some of my old reading time.

I love to read mysteries and just finished a Wallender book by Henning Mankell, "The Pyramid". Love his stuff.

Oh, but would it get cool enough here to sit outside and read! My all-time favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. But I love so many kinds of books and authors. Right now I'm reading "Worth Dying For" by Lee Child and waiting for my new Jonathan Maberry books to arrive that I ordered from amazon.

Randy, I have a long list of books waiting for me plus many that I have on order from our library. Can't seem to keep up. I just bought "Weekends with O'Keeffe" but am having a bit of trouble with the style. I'm not sure yet whether I like it,trying to keep an open mind, though. The gentleman in the chair reading seems oblivious of his surroundings...now that's concentration.

It looks so relaxing what this guy's doing. I would love to sit & read awhile... it seems all I am reading as of late is Craig's list apt search, LOL. That & the occasional blog. Congrats on your place, Randy, hope it all goes thru!

I love reading! But the only time I can do it is in bed before I go to sleep and then I only last about 10 minutes before I'm out! Right now I'm reading Cutting For Stone (needless to say in 10 increments it's taking me a long time!).

So weird, read, but it now takes me several months to even a year to finish a book. Currently, I am reading "A Year in the World: Journeys of A Passionate Traveller" by Frances Mayes. I am also reading Lightroom 3 by Scott Kelby.

It's hard to say what I am reading right now since there are so many in progress! :D

I was reading Tatoos on the Heart, which is a lovely account of the man who started the Homeboy Bakery in Los Angeles. Having had a family member in an L.A. gang, this book was a welcome and hopeful look inside that world.

Lovely scenery. I love to read. And my reading time is on the way to work in the train. Around two hours a day. I just finished "The Ballad of Trenchmouth Taggert" from Glenn Taylor (in the German translation), great book!
