The beaded work on all of the clothing and hair pieces were amazing. This young girls butterfly was one of my favorites. When she was dancing she was like the butterfly floating across the arena.
You must obtain special permission and pay a fee to use your camera on pueblo grounds so I must add this at the end of my photographs.

I agree with clairz, thank you for bringing this series to us! I love the butterfly in this shot. We have many native americans here in the pacific northwest, but they don't seem to have carried on their traditional rituals... or if they have, they don't invite "outsiders."
I am enjoying this series of photos so much. Makes me want to go!

Yesterday I bought my granddaughter several hair pieces. Never in a million years would I be able to duplicate a butterfly pin such as this one for her. The child is a melody of colour!
