As I approached this part of the trail the gentleman from yesterdays post was joined by his wife. The white that you see at the end of the look out is a type of limestone. I loved the view of the Perdernal from this spot.
Jack's not going to feel easy about this post either; the people are getting too close to the edge. That spot of limestone and color creates a bit of focus in the photo.
Being home now with a good internet connection I can once again see other people's blog posts. Just in time to see this wonderful looking hike you were on (went back and looked at the other posts). I didn't get enough desert on this trip. Next time.
If New Mexican limestone is a s slippery as it's English counterpart then there really is a danger of them adding to drama of the already dramatic situation. Wonderful view though.
A crescendo of great images: love the effect of that patch of white limestone, the great view, and the minuscule humans just to get the proportions of everything around!
