Not sure what these are called but they are in full bloom all over Santa Fe and in Abiquiu.

Looks like daisies to me but what do I know. The buttercup yellow is very attractive.

The latin name is: helianthus maximilianii, or commonly known as the Prarie Sunflower. It is a wild flower in the West. I have it here in my garden in Boston. it's a weed. Can be invasive. Spreads through the root system & by seeds. Since I have such poor soil I am not too worried about invasion. I hope that it will simply grow.
