These are just a few of the colorful flowers that can be found at the Farmer's Market. I am hitting the market early today. After that I am going to a free class on plants that can be used in gardens for the benefit of bees and butterflies. Hey, I need all the help I can get.

It's Over There!
I caught this photo of some tourist walking past the cathedral. I guess they were looking for something other than the church.

Swingtime
I was recently walking around the Railyard and I caught these two swinging on the cable that's meant to keep people from wandering close the the train tracks. They must have thought they were being rebels.

One of my favorites outside of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. It's called "Plant Yei, Protection Yei, Plant Yei" by Navajo artist Fred Begay.

Got Basket?
It's time for my usual stop at the Farmer's Market. If I forget my bags, they'll have me covered. But first, a stop at the Santa Fe Botanical Gardens annual plant sale. Happy Saturday all.

This is the final shot of my Ghost Ranch hike. There was something beautiful about this dead tree. Maybe it was sky that added to it's beauty. I might just have to head up there on my long weekend next week to take a different hike.

I could have easily spent more time taking shots of the rock formation on the way down but started to sprinkle and I had to make it my car before the rain set in. I'm happy I stopped for this one.

This is the view standing on the edge of the limestone edge (lower left) from yesterdays photo. Normally I would not stand this close to the edge but the views were too good to miss.

As I approached this part of the trail the gentleman from yesterdays post was joined by his wife. The white that you see at the end of the look out is a type of limestone. I loved the view of the Perdernal from this spot.

This was my view after climbing a 15 foot slot canyon. After injuring my knee weeks before I thought I was ready for it, the slot canyon proved me wrong. After stopping to take in the view I came to the conclusion to carry on, it was worth it.

Further along the trail I caught sight of this tree with the clouds behind it. It reminded me of cotton candy.

There was something about this view that excited me as I started on this hike. I think it was the idea that there could be no better view. This place is a nature photographers dream, just one wonderful view after another.

The Views
This week I'm going to share some of the sights that I captured while hiking to the top of Kitchen Mesa at Ghost Ranch. As you can see the sky is a big contrast from yesterday's photo. The change happened while I was working my way to my goal. Enjoy your week.

Theme Day: Squares
Theme Day is here again and this month's theme is Squares. These square windows are part of the Farmer's Market building in the Railyard. As you can see there is another set of squares in the reflection. Those windows are part of the Santa Fe Clay studio on the other side of the railyard.
