Family Coat of Arms

Every year for Fiestas you will find the Spanish Family Coat of Arms hanging at the Palace of the Governors. Is my sir name on there? No, but there is a valley near Taos with my last name.

Looks like a jousting tournie.

Nice color and the arrangement causes interesting eye movement, as I look to the umbrellas and then the line of colors take my view to the right and then it pops back to the umbrellas.

Always love taking a look at coats of arms and wondering of the symbolism. I'm thinking of one with a castle in the foreground and trees flying overhead. Say what????????

You should draw one for your name, why not?

That is really quite impressive. I'd like to see that myself. You'll just have to come up with one for your family. Many years ago when I taught Middle School English this was one of my start-of-the year projects. Many students came up with some really wonderful and creative symbols for their familiy.

Nice find! Quite a variation in all the different family coat of arms, centuries of history in these designs to be sure!
