Poppies

Poppies are blooming all over town right now. This little patch can be found near La Casa Sena, a local restaurants with great patio seating that will let you take in the beauty of the nearby gardens.

I love red poppies! We only get the yellow ones here (as you probably know). One of the things that so appealed to me in Italy last year was the red poppies everywhere.

I see poppies growing everywhere, in ditches and hillsides, wild and free, but will they grow in my yard? No, no they wont.

I wonder if they're called poppy because of the way they pop out at you - they're beautiful and it's a terrific shot.

I have never seen orange poppies before
In Wales we have yellow poppies and of course the red ones but never the orange
