Mind Blowing

This was my favorite exhibit. It was projected on to this giant mask and a visual treat. The title of this piece is "Super Epic Enormous Mind-Blowing Floating Head In Your Face."

It was described as "An eclectic mind-blowing experience of multimedia resources and techniques. You will face travel through time, space and overwhelming epic awesomeness."

Human Theater

This was another exhibit at the Outdoor Vision Fest. Human Theater was a mixed media sculpture. I didn't stay too long to see the whole thing because I was drawn to the music of another exhibit. Happy Monday everyone.

Skin

That was the name of this exhibit at the Outdoor Vision Fest. Here is a brief description from the artist:

"While people slip thought the plastic strips they are forced to allow the plastic to graze their body. The projected image is a man metamorphosing, and as people walk through they intrude upon his space. The moulting process--resulting in both physical and spiritual rejuvenation-- is disruptive and distorted as the viewer steps through and into space that should be regarded as sacramental."

Outdoor Vision Fest

Last night was the Outdoor Vision Fest,one of my favorite art events. This what we saw as we entered the grounds. Below is a brief description of the event.

"Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) will present the third annual Outdoor Vision Fest (OVF). Colorful, interactive media by SFUAD student graphic designers, animators, filmmakers, photographers and interactive multimedia artists will be projected at night onto the sides of the late Ricardo Legorreta’s internationally acclaimed Visual Arts Center."

Harry's Roadhouse

One of my favorite places to eat on the weekend is Harry's Roadhouse. Everything here is wonderful, breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a wonderful patio in the back and right now the flowers are all coming up making it a wonderful spot for a meal. Have a happy Friday!

Are You A Fan?

I don't normally don't eat Jelly Beans but when it comes to Jelly Belly jelly beans they are hard to resist.  I like most flavors but my favorite are the Butter Popcorn flavored ones (I know, yuck). If you enjoy these little treats do you have a favorite flavor?

Do You Know This Person?

Most of us remember the movie "Love Story." If so then you will know who this lovely Santa Fean is. Here is a brief description from Amazon.com about this book that can be found all over town, "Centuries before Santa Fe declared itself to the world as a centre of art and style, it was establishing the values and traditions that attracted trend-setters and travellers. Oh and yes I do see her around town from time to time. Ms. MacGraw is a wonderful supporter of many Non-Profits here in town.

On A Cloudy Day

The winds have been blowing lately bringing clouds and hopes from rain. Unfortunately the rains never came but there have been some pretty great clouds floating by. In the distance is the Loretto Inn and Spa. Have a good Monday everyone.

Pigeon Hunter

The other day as I was walking past the plaza I saw this little guy. He was busy keeping his mother and grandmother on the run, not to mention the pigeons. I caught this as he was considering his next move.

It's A New Day

Madrid Bench

Last weekend I traveled to Madrid. While strolling around the galleries I caught sight of this cute little painted bench.

"Snake Dance Totem with Moon and Stars"

This sculpture by artist Doug Coffin was inspired by the Snake Dances of the Hopi Indians. It's at one of the entrances of La Posada of Santa Fe and one of my favorites in town.

Capturing the Camera Man.

With the warmer Spring weather upon us more and more tourists are everywhere. While out and about the other day I caught this guy with his camera and a look that said "Darn I walked into your shot." Yes he did and here he is.

Back to Work

Everyone in town seems to have the same idea. I caught this guy walking a painting to a nearby gallery last Monday. I hope you all have a good Monday and a quick work week.

Even Outdoors

This is a gallery on Don Diego, I can't remember the name but it used to be the Adobe Photo Shop. Yes that is a real photograph hanging outside. I didn't believe it when I first saw it but it's still there weeks later after I took this shot. Maybe they take it down every night. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Traveling Musicians?

I caught these two talking with a fellow guitar player as I was exciting Starbucks not too long ago. Looking at the beat up guitar case on the right the lyric "While my guitar gently weeps," came to mind.

Climbing Shadows

One thing I love is that the Georgia O'Keeffe museum is only a few blocks from where I work. The other day while visiting the gift shop and as I walked out I caught these shadows from the nearby tree that appeared to be climbing the walls of the gift shop. I could not resist the shot.

It was a cloudy day yesterday with no chance of any rainfall. This is the view of from the corner of Galisteo and Water Street facing east. Have a great Saturday everyone.

This Little Piggy.

Well he just stood there. This pig sculpture was sitting on the fence at the Gerald Peters Gallery when I took this shot. Today I walked by and he was on the ground. I hope it wasn't vandalism.

Theme Day: Pedestrians Crossing

It's theme day here on City Daily Photo and this month's theme is "Pedestrians Crossing." I caught these people crossing at the corner of Galisteo and San Francisco street. There happens to be a bar on this corner and as you can see the doorman was sitting in the chair watching these pedestrians cross the street.
