This is something you don't see very often in the city, nowadays all you see are security doors. I came across this one in an old neighborhood. I love the sound of a wooden screen door.
I too enjoy the sounds of a screen door. When my grand children come to visit, the screen door on the screened in room at the back of the house gets a work out. Even my wife prefers to let it slam shut instead of gently closing it. Probably just to keep me awake!
You are right about the sound. There are few better noises than the sound of a wood screen door slamming shut as kids run out to go play. Many kids today will never know of that pleasant sound.

Interesting build !
I've been contriving a way to install a wooden screen door on our house, Randy. No one does that here, and I miss the sound of it.
Agree the stretching of the spring and the slap of the door, love the vibrant colour.
I do hear the noise... :-) and love it.
What a great color against the walls. Beautiful.
Love this photo! Just thinkin...haven't heard the sound of a screen door in years. I'll bet some kids have never heard that sound.
Gorgeous colour Randy, against the ochre of the house..looks so good. Hopefully this is the 'safe' part of town..
I love every last thing about this. I want a photo of it hanging on my wall!
Ya, nice sound. But I hate it when the door won't line up right. Augh!

LOVE the design. LOVE the color. LOVE the old wooden screen doors (reminds me of my old wisconsin farmhouse youth).
What a great color of blue.

That does look like an old one. I like it. It keeps the bugs out.
I love that bright blue color too! This takes me back to screen doors from my youth:)
There are actually a lot of screen doors starting to appear on older homes in the Downtown areas of Toronto - It's a great sound isn't it?
Love the contrast of colors!
And a mail slot in the door is another rarity. Great finds, Randy.
I'd kill to have one at home. Well, maybe not kill but I'm sure you know what I mean! :-) Gorgeous!
Seems to me I can remember years back my mother yelling after me, "Don't slam the screen door!" I like the bright blue!
A wonderful contrast of colors in this shot.
That blue screen door is just a few notches on the color wheel past turquoise. Pretty!
Brings back memories, doesn't it?
I'm a sucker for blue doors! Great photo! =) xo
