SF Indian Market 14

These beautiful clay sculptures are the work of Maxine Toya from the Jemez Pueblo here in New Mexico. This is a quote from a gallery website "Maxine is from a prominent family of potters: grandmother Persingula Gachupin, mother Marie G. Romero, sister Laura Gachupin, and daughters Dominique and Camilla Toya were and are respected, prize-winning artists. In addition to being a noted award-winning potter."

Wonderful sculptures of the singers. With the donkey and lamb in the group I feel as if Im viewing a celebration of the Natividad.

You know Randy, all things considered it's good that I'm nowhere near SF in August. :-) This is such a lovely scene, so pretty, reverent...

She certainly has her very own style and color scheme. It's very attractive. I can see why the family is so highly regarded for their art work.
