S.F International Folk Art Market: Yarn Painting

This is Mariano Valadez Navarro and he specializes in Huichol - Wixarika Yarn Paintings. As you can see I shot this as he was working on a new painting. In fact he was busy working to finish this piece because it was already sold. Wishing everyone a very happy Friday and a great weekend.

Seems to be extremely intricate and painstaking work - makes you feel ashamed to simply press the shutter release to get results!

Very impressive. I could never do that.

This is a new art form for me. I'm afraid I'm lacking in patience for something this intricate so I'll just have to admire the talent of those who have that patience!

Now that takes fantastic skill and very steady hands. Beautiful!

I wonder how many hours he has in that piece. Maybe it would be easier to express in days.

This is a nice shot of an artist at work.

An interesting art. Firstly, I thought it is sandpainting but the colors are not so vivid in that case.

Good study of the artist creating his work. Would love to have this colorful piece hanging next to my Navajo sand painting!
