Yesterday I attended the Madrid 4th of July parade. Madrid is an old mining town about 30 minutes south of Santa Fe. The town is now mostly an artist community. It sits on HWY 14 which is known as the Turquoise Trail and is a favorite highway of motorcycle riders.
I will be posting some photos from this charming little community parade over the next week. So I will start with this one, it's the first time I had ever seen a Yak at a parade.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday, Randy! Great shot.
géniale cette vache patriotique ;)
Happy 4 July, God Bless América, nice shot for a happy day.
Greetints.
Ahh, so it's a yak- it was hard to tell for me! Lovely shot and very hairy ;-)
Especially a yak marching in step with someone!
I do love to visiting Madrid. This will be fun...
First time I've seen a yak, period!
Madrid is different, no doubt about it! But, I guess I should stop yakking and move along to another blog!
Before I read your narrative I was thinking: Is that a yak? Yackety, yack!
I have never seen a yak in a parade either. But why not? ;)
this is funny randy ! beautiful shot!
A great way to spend the 4th!. Lots of fun in small town America! Especially an art community!
What's a Yak doing there? :-)
Ok, that is quite unusual!
Looks nice Randy. I like the shot and would love to visit the town.
hope he stays cool!
There's got to be a first time for everything Randy, now how are you going to top that haha!
Cool!
So, you were yakking it up yesterday? :-) Enjoy the rest of your week!
Probably not many yaks go to parades!
Wow a yak, that's cool!
This is almost incredible...
Oh my! I don't think I have ever seen one but it sure looks docile.
Too cute!
Ah, yes. A yak. A traditional symbol of the Fourth of July. In Madrid.
How fun! A yak in a parade!
Oh lol, that's unexpected!
That seems to be fun !
I thought it was a mini-buffalo! What a hoot! Love the old geezer, too. And that's not a put-down. In fact, I've been called an old geezer. But my friends call me the Old, Crippled, Blind Man or OCBM for short! :-)
Ooops, I forgot to mention, those friends who call me OCBM - I usually beat them at golf! Heh, heh!
Where does one even get a yak? A very distinctive parade.
Yaks on parade...sounds like it should be a Dr. Seuss title.
That's a cute Yak!
