S.F International Folk Art Market: Jewelry

There was jewelry from all over but this year I was more drawn to the works from Africa. These colorful pieces were the work of James Ole Kamete, click on his name for more information about this artist.

Hi Randy, this is very similar to the traditional jewellery of Borneo. We bought a few items on our last visit to Kuching.

Who knew about all of this stuff? We have arts and crafts fairs here but I've not seen anything like this. You are fortunately to have such craftsmen/women come to the Santa Fe area.

Thanks for the link. Wonderful bead work. I should take a photo of a spectacular necklace I bought in Cape Town years ago. I'd love to go back, too.

Colorful, is right. Such small beads. This looks like a lot of work went into each piece.

Santa Fe is probably the most colorful place ever. Even the festivals and markets are bursting with color!

This brings back so many memories of the Samburu and Maasai people. I will never forget being among them in Kenya and Tanzania.
