The is the Grannia Griffith Story. They were on shortly after the DJ played at the SF Reporter Music festival. I really enjoyed there music but most of all I really liked her skirt. Take a close look to see what it is made of.

All that Glitters

While some people were busy listening to the music this little guy was busy picking up glitter that was all over the ground. He would then run off and throw it on the little girls in the crowd.

Flowers in the Sun

It's still a little warm in the middle of the day. There were quite a few interesting umbrellas out in about at the art festival.

Pictures of You

I caught this artist taking photos of her fellow artist doing a performance piece in their booth. I'm sure the performance piece had something to do with the drawings on the walls.

Mixing

This was the guy who was playing the music that got people up and one there feet at the festival. He mixed music with some really good beats and he was interesting to watch as well. I hope your music soundtrack this week is fun and makes you dance.

I Dance For You

These two were dancing at the art and music festival last weekend. When I saw these two I was reminded of a quote by Martha Graham "Every dance is a kind of fever chart, a graph of the heart."

It was a joy to watch them, free and having fun without worry of what others thought.

Elton?

No, Sir Elton John was not in town. This was one of the artist at the Santa Fe Reporters Free Arts and Music Festival last Sunday which took place at the Railyard. I caught a few interesting shots and will be sharing them with you. Big plans for your weekend? Whatever you do I hope it's something that makes you happy!

Can't Miss Color

Time for a Game

I caught these shot near downtown. These guys were playing checkers and for their game pieces they were using beer bottle caps. This was inspired by a series that was posted on Portland Daily Photo in August by Lynette.

Oh Well

I hope this isn't a sign of how the week will be. I found this in the railyard area yesterday when I went to a music festival put on by our local weekly paper the Santa Fe Reporter. There was wonderful music, dancing and art. Hopefully it will become and annual event. Hoping you all have a good start to your week.

Is it Ready?

I was at Sunflower Market the other day and I saw a line of people waiting their turn to get their chilies roasted. I caught this little guy patiently waiting and watching as the roaster was spinning. The smell was heavenly.

Thoughts of a Ride

After I took this shot of this BMW bike in front of Legends gallery I noticed this young woman in the window looking at the bike I was shooting. I wonder if she was daydreaming of going for a ride.

Football

We the season has started and more and more vehicles around town are starting to show off their owners favorite teams. I couldn't miss this one on the way to work yesterday. You may not have something like this on your car but do you have a favorite football team?

Doodlets

Doodlets is a great store to find interesting and unusual gifts. I really like the painted screen door and they always have wonderful window displays.

Second Street Brewery at the Farmers Market is a great place to meet friends for some drinks and good food. Come along and afterwards we can take in some art in the area galleries.

Taking A Break

This is the patio of Downtown Subscription where Kate and I met. The were chairs in the patio but I think this guy was taking a quick break to read the newspaper.

Reading Outdoors

There are many pleasures in life. Good food, a nice glass of your favorite beverage. For some it might be a bike ride, cruising town in a convertible. And then there is Art, Music and for this guy it was reading. I love to read but this year I seem to nod off after work and visiting your blogs (Lord knows I won't give that up!) and homework. I am curious, what is your favorite book or what are you currently reading now. I am trying to start "An Object of Beauty" by Steve Martin. For you readers please don't wait for my review. It could be a long long time.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Kate a fellow CDP blogger. Most of you know her from Visual St. Paul and My Santa Fe Kate . It was a great time learning more about one another and talking blog talk. I really hope that she will be back soon so that I can share more of Santa Fe with her. After our afternoon together I was reminded of a quote that I heard recently:

Musical Prelude

This is Mariachi Buenaventura. Over the Labor Day weekend we always have a great arts and crafts fair on the plaza. These young and wonderful musicians were playing for the crowd. Giving us prelude of what is to come next weekend which happens to be Fiesta weekend in Santa Fe. Let the party begin. I hope you all have a great start to your week.

Sheltered

Across the street from the Morgan Crow gallery is the Treehouse. I love this patio area where you can enjoy some great teas and watch the art lovers walk by. Come and share a cup a tea and some dessert.

It's Friday!!!

And for me a four day weekend! The Morgan Crow gallery is on Canyon Road and this is also one of my favorite gallery signs. Friday evening is a wonderful time to catch some gallery openings and maybe grab a bite to eat in a nearby eatery.
