Frozen River

Most of our snow is gone but there are patches around town. Even the Santa Fe river is still frozen. I caught this one on my favorite walk down Alameda road.

Nice capture Randy!
The shades of the trees go well with the icy river..
But at the same time it gives the impression spring is slowly creeping up :)

Hoping than an early spring may literally liquidate the last snow of winter.

I imagine it's difficult for walking around, maybe dangerous for those who don't know the place very well.I guess...
It's very nice to see the cold day but with so lovely sun!

Well, at least your snow is almost gone! Our outdoors have mounds of dirty, black snow!

Our snow is nearly all gone as well. Just patches are left here and there, and a heavy fog has descended over the valley, like the English countryside. It's freezing and damp. I rather envy your sunshine!

It is a beautiful place to go for a walk.
Have a good day Randy!

Thank you Randy. There is still some snow around here. Not much though. We are actually enjoying some very nice and cold days.

You must get awfully cold to freeze a river. We're warming up in Texas (hurray!) so hopefully you'll thaw a bit too!

Nice shot-- it looks like the hope of warmer days to come!

It may be thawing this week w/ the warm temps we're getting!

Before long the patches of snow will be gone and spring will be pushing up the ground with its greeness... love the long shadows of winter and the icy creek bed.

Love the shadows falling across the snow. It's cold out there, Baby!!

Thankfully I don't have to make comments about snow. Instead trees have blossomed out and now the rains have returned knocking off the blossoms. Weird stuff going on with nature these days.

We still have a few patches but only in places that are in the shade all day. Not much ice left here now but I hear another storm is on the way.

Winter light can be so beautiful, can't it?

Santa Fe gets snow?!? I saw a hockey game on tv in Dallas the other day and there was nobody in the crowd! Weird weather down there. Find those earmuffs.

This one has to be enlarged to get a closer look at the icy water. Beautiful!

A place the sun doesn't reach, but the snow lightens it up.

I am ready for spring and running water - had enough of ice & snow!

You have the nicest walks!

Nice angle and I like the shadows.

Hartford has had a few days above freezing, so the snow pack is down to about a foot. A lot has melted to get it down to one foot.

Great photo of somewhere I have to say I am glad not to be--looks way too cold for me. Does it flood when it thaws?
