This first place winner for unpainted Bultos is the work of Roberto E. Barela. A Woodcarver from Taos. It was great to have the chance to speak with Mr. Barela. He was proud of his award but was even more proud of another piece that I didn't have the chance to photograph. This would be a great conversation piece for any home.

I saw this at the Preview show, but not much photographed well there because of the lighting system. Glad you got this one...good shot!
I think that might go well in my farmhouse.... Maybe in the foyer! Obviously a very talented person spent many an hour on this.
