Our Lady of Guadalupe

This new statue of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" is new to the Guadalupe church. She was made in Mexico and after a long trip and problems at the border she arrived and was dedicated last Friday.

Randy, I'm SO HAPPY that you posted this! While vacationing in SF we lived up the road a bit, off Aqua Fria and passed this statue often, but, unfortunately, it was tightly wrapped until the unveiling. I also read about the journey and heard a sermon in the Cathedral by one of the accompanying priests. The unveiling must have been a spectacular event. PS. I am going to send you my own hollyhock picture!!

Thanks for your recent comment at South Shields daily Photo, it was good of you to drop by.

As well as photography I'm also interested in learning how to produce digital artwork,

that's why I have started South Shields Pixels, you may be interested in having a quick look.

I'm always interested in religious iconography too, part of my upbringing I guess.
