Waiting for Spring

I love some of the tree here in the winter. Their branches look almost black. This one with the orange leaves still in it from fall is probably ready for Spring to bring forth its first buds.

Cross of the Martyrs

During the 1680 Pueblo Revolt, 21 Franciscan Friars died in the fight between the natives and the Spanish. A single white cross sits on a terraced hill overlooking Santa Fe to honor those holy men.

This is one picture of the downtown plaza area on San Francisco street. I mostly shot it for the reflection of the sky in the windows. There were some great clouds out and about.

El Santuario de Chimayo

This small church in Chimayo is the destination of hundreds of people during Holy Week. We visited the church today and were amazed by all of the people walking along the highway just to reach this church. I could not get this link that will tell you more about the pilgrimage to work but if you copy and paste it you should be able to read more about it.
