White on White

This shot was taken at the Santa Fe National Cemetary. As you can see all of the head stones are white and with the snow on the ground they still seem to stand out. Not as much as the Pine tree in the backround but they are still there to be seen as a reminder.

Do Not Enter?

Click on the photo and you will see the "Do Not Enter" sign at the entrance of the plaza. By this photo it looks like its for the plaza area but it really is a one way street so it is there to keep drivers from going the wrong way.

Snowy Lights

These lights will never get warm enough to melt the snow.

Snowy Plaza

This is the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. It was pretty cold out but there were people milling around and shopping. Hope everyone has a good start to their week.

Skulls and Snow

I found these skills sitting on an evaporative cooler partially covered in snow. Funny how the appearance of certain things change when covered in snow.

Collected Works

One of my favorite stores in the downtown area is the Collected Works Bookstore. They have a great New Mexico book section. Its fun to find a good book there and head to your favorite coffee shop or park and enjoy your new find.

Cold is a State of Mind

Maybe this Buddha can't feel the cold but even with a heavy coat you can feel it when the wind blows.

Crossing the Water

The snowy creek was very peaceful and I loved the way the shadows of the trees crossed over the creek and continued across the snow.

Empty Table

This table is close to the Santa Fe ski basin. I don't people will be sitting here for awhile.

White Beauty

While hiking I was amazed at how white the trees were. Then I realized it was the ice that made them look so white. Then I thought about the weight of that ice on these trees. Trees are pretty strong.

Peaceful Sunlight

There is something peaceful about the snow. I don't think its the absence of people. Its the quiet wind, the trickle of the water under the snow. The sunlight shining through the trees.

Snow Hike

This is a road that we hike on most Sundays. Lately its been quite invigorating with the snow on the ground. We got a little snow on the mountain north of our house last night so todays hike should be interesting.

Color of Glazes

At Jackalope they sell all kinds of pottery for the inside and the outside of your home. I love the color when the sun shines on them.

Looking for Color

Well the cat wasn't looking. He was watching a dog that was walking in his direction.
There are several artists selling their wears here at Jackalope. The ornaments next to the cat were made by a glass making artist.

Sleigh Parking?

Christmas decorating is everywhere. This was in the parking lot of Jackalope.

Old Santa with his Old Bike

This is a display at Jackalope's outdoor furnishing area. He was pretty old, maybe not as old as the bike but as you can see he could use a little facial paint.

Too Much Sun

I don't think too much of this sun could be bad for you. Well maybe if you dropped it on your foot. These were at Jackalope. A great place to buy all kinds of interior and exterior home furnishings. I love the icicles too, they are melting from too much sun.

This is the front of Maya. Its a great shop for jewelry made by different jewelry artist, clothes and some great cards.

Frost Bit Leaves

You will probably want to click on the photo for a better look. I love the color of these leaves. I have walked past them a few times but they really stood out in the snow. I chose this photo and the red leaves to help signify the AIDs ribbon. Today is World AIDS day. This post is in honor of loved ones that I have lost.
