Beauty in Clay

This is my last Spanish Market photos. This artist had some beautiful pieces made from clay. If I had the money this would be sitting in my home now.

Your Sunday Alter

Can you imagine this alter in your home. I think it would be perfect if you have a small chapel on your property. I can only imagine how long it took the artist to make this.

Planters for the Dead.

Not that you would want to put dead plants in here but these Day of the Dead pots would be perfect with some beautiful flowers at your front door.

Saint and Angels

When at the Spanish Market I kept staring at this piece thinking about the love and patience that the artist must have possessed to create such a lovely piece. Have a great weekend everyone!

Cabinet for Treasures

What can you say about this beautiful cabinet. There were alot of admirers at the Spanish Market.

Riding in Peace

This VW light is the work of mixed media artist Gilbert Candelaria. I would love to have a full size drivable version of this bug.

Retablos and Cross

There were different displays by all the different artists at Spanish Market. Some of the more simple ones were some of my favorites.

Praying

This piece from the Spanish market was very thought provoking. People were very moved by it. As for me I am praying, that it will be a short week. Have a good one everyone.

Saints

There were many beautiful saints at the Spanish Market. The ones by artist Marie Romero Cash were some of my favorite because of their beautiful color.

Take your Pick

There was quite the assortment of tiles by Debora Duran Geiger at the Spanish Market. There was something for everyone Native American to Day of Dead, Southwest to Spirtual.

Mary and the Saints

The same artist from yesterdays post also crafted all of these beautiful pieces. Have a great weekend everyone.

Color Display

Retablos usally painted on wood were everywhere at the Spanish Market. This artist chose to highlight one of his against these beautiful flowers.

Petals and Skulls

On the Contemporary side of the Spanish Market we found these beautiful skulls made and or decorated with flower petals by artist Mayling Garcia.

Saint Francis

One of the most prominent saints at the Spanish Market seemed to be St. Francis. This one was one of my favorites.

Time to go to Market.

This weekend was Santa Fe's Spanish Market. This is just one of the streets that was full of artist booths. Stay tuned this week to see more. Have a good week everyone.

As I was walking down Canyon Road I came upon these shoes that someone left on the wall. Maybe they went down to the TeaHouse to relax. Enjoy your Sunday.

I've posted this Apache Spirit Dance before but this time while at the Folk Art Market there were some nice clouds behind it. I love this piece!

Got a Big Head?

This huge horse head sculpture even surprised me when I was walking down Canyon road the other day. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. This weekend is the Spanish Market here in Santa Fe. I hope to get some good shots.

Paper Flowers

These were all over the Folk Art Market but if you wanted some of these paper flowers you could also buy some to take home.

Day of the Dead

Well not today, but this artist from Mexico had these great shrines and stand alone skeletons at the Folk Art Market. Three more days for the Spanish Market here in Santa Fe.

Mexican Pottery Anyone?

I could have easily bought something from this artist from Mexico. I love the Red color of the clay.

Working Hard

Happy Monday everyone. This artist from Africa was busy working away at one of her pieces. I don't know that I would have the patience to work on something like this. Beautiful isn't it?

No, its not a Church Tent

Its one of the other tents used for the Folk Art Market. I love how festive they were decorated.

Need some Bling?

There was quite the crowd around these earrings made by an artist from Mexico. I had to squeeze in really fast to avoid bodily harm.

Got Color?

Weavings from Peru

I was amazed how all the noise and crowds never bothered this artist from Peru while she was weaving.

Roosters from Haiti

These colorful Roosters traveled all the way from Haiti for the Folk Art Market. I love how colorful they were. Did you know its good luck to have one in the Kitchen? At least thats what I heard from a cooking show.

A Festive Event

As you can see the International Folk Art Market is quite the event. They even decorate the inside of the tents.

International Folk Art Market

A large summer event here in Santa Fe. The International Folk Art Market brings in artist from all over the world. Hosted on the grounds of Museum Hill these artist sell there goods and receive 90% of their asking price. It was warm yesterday but that did not stop people from coming out for this wonderful event.

To Brighten Your Day

I was drawn by the brightness of this Yellow flower. Isn't great that you can capture these kinds of things?

Fresh Beets

These would be great steamed as they are or pickled. I am just going to have to head to the Farmers market before heading out of town. Don't you love fresh foods?

Flowers for Friday

Time for some serious gardening here in Santa Fe and you can always find plants like these at the Farmers Market. Wish everyone some fun this weekend. I am off to Taos for the Taos Pueblo Pow Wow.

Got Wine

Maybe some cheese too. That would go good with the bread from the Farmers Market. I bought one and it didn't last long so its back to the market on Saturday.

Santa Fe Pride

A couple of weekends ago, Santa Fe had its Gay Pride Festival. This was the only shot I got. I was in a hurry to get to the Farmers Market.

Hair Color Freedom

On the 4th of July this kid was wondering around the Farmers Market with some pretty colorful hair. Click on the photo to get a look at the little girls face in front of him. Pretty funny.

Cross below the Sky

While driving home the other day after a little rain passed. I was taken by the Blue sky over the Guadalupe chapel near downtown.

Colorful Trim

This is a popular color on alot of Adobe homes in Santa Fe. I would probably paint my trim the same color if I bought an adobe. It just says Santa Fe. Happy 4th of July!

All Aboard

I love the colors of the old metal and the bright colors of the paint on the steps of this train car. Happy weekend all and have a safe and happy fourth of July!

Raven with Apple

This is one of my favorite sculptures in town. It sits in the courtyard where I buy my favorite frozen yogurt.

Theme Day: "Empty"

Its theme day here on the City Daily Photo blogs . The theme for this month is "Empty." Here in New Mexico an empty skull is a work of art or a great garden piece. These shop owners used theirs as a welcome sign. To all my visitors I bid you welcome.

There are so many textures in our buildings here in New Mexico. I love the White frames around these windows.

Living on the Edge

Click on this one for good look. This little guy was not taking the warning and living on the edge just before the train arrived. Hope everyone has a good week. I pray it is better than the last one.

Heading Home

I took this shot just before the train was getting ready to leave Albuquerque. These people were waiting for the Southbound train.

Big Sky

Even here in the city of Albuquerque the sky is still beautiful. Not as big and wide as in Northern New Mexico but still beautiful.

When I was getting ready to come back to Santa Fe I noticed these two waiting for the train. The obviously wanted to be the first on the train. Have a good weekend everyone I know that I am looking forward to it.

We recently took our first ride on the Railrunner to Albuquerque. The next few days I will be posting a few pictures from our train ride.

The Way Monday Feels Sometimes

This is a new installation at the new convention center. I don't remember the name of it but I thought it a good post for a Monday morning. This morning like a school of fish we will all drive in the same direction, to work. I hope your week goes well.
