Click on this one for a better look. This weekend was the Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival. Believe it or not I forgot my camera at home so my partner had to take this shot for me. If your looking for a water fountain that would serve as a great conversation piece this would be it. There was alot of great art made from all kinds of stuff.

Theme Day: Books

It's the first of the month, that means Theme Day and this months theme is Books. I shot this at Garcia Street Books. It is a great independent books store here in Santa Fe. Not too far from my home. The day I got this shot it just so happens that a book on Santa Fe was sitting on the "Sale" table in front of the store.

Please take some time to browse the pictures of my fellow bloggers today by clicking on the links below. Have a great day!

On a Hike

Since the last snow there are alot of trees that have lost their golden leaves. I stumbled upon this spot while hiking on the Aspen trail.

Horno

Hornos are mud adobe built outdoor ovens used by Native Americans and early settlers of North America. Hornos are still used in parts of New Mexico and Arizona.

"Devil from Alaska"

While in Abiquiu on the studio tour I came across this artists representation on Sarah Palin. The artist J. Suris works mostly with wood. Here is her artist statement, "Although I primarily work with wood I am fascinated by the alchemy of mixing various materials such as antler, stone, bone and found materials into my work to achieve the calling of each piece. My recent work takes the form of intimate cabinets and magic furniture, figurative spirit beings and sometimes surprising representations of my journey into the "listening place"--a place I find myself in as I hold gathered materials in my hands before I begin working."

Sunday Flowers

Got Apples?

You may or may not remember this horse from a post around the same time last year. I went up to Truchas New Mexico and saw her again just hanging out and checking out people to see if they have any treats. Truchas is a cute little town north of Santa Fe. Robert Redford made a movie here call "The Milagro Bean Field War." If you haven't see it and you like older movies check it out.

Fall comes to Santa Fe

The leaves are turning gold here in Santa Fe. We took a hike along the Aspen trail this weekend and were amazed at how many trees had already turned.
