Black Cross, Blue Sky

After dinner in Taos I was walking around the plaza when I noticed the evening sky and this cross designed by local artist Ted Egri and placed on the plaza in honor of the many people of Taos who died in the Bataan Death March during World War II. It made me think of "Black Cross New Mexico," one of my favorite paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Beautiful post, Randy. One of my mom's cousins was a survivor of Bataan, although he was crippled for life as a result.

Georgia O´Keeffe and the museum was one of the reasons why I wanted to visit Santa Fe in 2008. I love the bone paintings by O´Keeffe and the photos of Georgia`s hands by Stieglitz

The tree and cross against the evening sky are just beautiful. I love when life reminds us of art and art reminds us of life.

I keep missing your posts because Santa Fe DP is stuck with the fenced in horse on the CDP portal.

Yes, I see what you saw here. And it's a gorgeous photo.
