When flowers are available at the Farmers market you can see them being carried by the young and old alike. Even hitching a ride on a backpack.

Potatoes and Carrots

As always the Farmers market was full of great fresh farm grown foods. These potatoes are great with Green Chile and Chedder cheese. Have a great week everyone.

Saturday Art Market

Every Saturday after shopping at the Farmers Market you can go across the street to the Railyard park and shop at the Artist Market. There is a wide array of artist, from painters to jewelry makers.

Big Fan!

I love this mailbox. It sits in front of one of the homes in my neighborhood. Someone obviously is a big Beatles fan.

Daffy

This Daffy Duck shelf was sitting outside of the Chuck Jones Gallery in the downtown area. I know some kids who would love this.

Seeing Red

These red umbrellas are your shelter from the sun while lunching at the Georgia O'Keeffe museum. One of my favorite places to eat and a nice wine selection too. The cafe sits between yesterdays Barkery and the O'Keeffe museum.

Now Open

Santa Fe has a new Barkery and Boutique for our four legged friends the Pooch Pantry. This new barkery is located two doors down from the Georgia O'Keeffe museum.

Jimson Weed Returns

One of Georgia O'keeffe's paintings Jimson Weed was hung at the White House and has now returned to the museum here in Santa Fe. It really is something to see in person.

Snow has come to the mountains.

Since Wednesday we have gotten quite a bit of rain. As you can see some of our mountain tops actually have snow on them. Should make for a good ski season.

Our Newest Museum

The New Mexcio History Museum opened just before summer. It is located just behind the Palace of the Govenors.

Friday night dinner, Pizza!

My favorite Friday night dinner is pizza from Upper Crust. I love sitting on the portal a watching people walk by. They always comment on how good the pizza looks. My favorite is a Veggie pizza with Green Chile. This weekend is the High Road Art Studio tour. I am so excited! Have a good weekend everyone.

A Flower for you!

This goes out to all of my followers. Sunflowers are in bloom everywhere recently. Throughout the city and along country roads. You can't help but smile when you see them.

Blue Sky over the Roundhouse.

This is our state capitol building "sometimes referred to as the "Roundhouse" due to its unusual shape. The building resembles the Zia sun symbol on the state flag. The Capitol houses a large regional art and sculpture collection."

Get Out of the Way!!

If you see this coming you'd better get across that street as fast as you can. You don't want to get hit by those horns. I see this Jeep cruising around town now and then. This time I found it parked near downtown.

The Way Monday Feels Sometimes

Sometimes it feels like people are trying to squeeze ideas out of you on Monday. Kind of makes you feel like a Pez dispenser or maybe like this guy, a BIG Pez dispenser standing in front of this candy store. Wishing you all a great week.

I forgot one.

I love this shot. At the Indian Market there is someone taking photographs of the artist and their work. Probably for future ads or magazines. Anyway this guy was more than happy to strike a pose for me. I think I need one of these signs.

Santa Fe is 400 years old!

Labor Day weekend was the start of Santa Fe's 400th celebration. We are the oldest capital city in the U.S. This was the beginning of a year of celebration. This was the opening of the park where the first celebration and concerts were held.

Beautiful Pottery

This is the end of my Indian Market shots just in time for Fiestas. I saved one of my favorites for last. This beautiful pottery was crafted by Camilla Toya from the Jemez Pueblo. These piece are even more wonderul in person. I love the ones with the butterlies on the lid. Wishing you all a great weekend.

Metal Kachina

How would you like to have something like these metal Kachinas? This was another piece that was far better in person.

Black and White Pottery

For those who like more of a monochromatic look I think you will love this pottery by Joshua Madalena. My favorite is the one that looks like a water container with the symbol for rain on it.

Nacona Burgess

These were some of my favorite paintings at the Indian Market. Not even this photo conveys the rich colors of his work.

Clay Sculptures

These beautiful sculptures by Pablita Abeyta were hard to get a photo of. There were people all over her tables admiring her work. Don't know that I could choose just one piece as a favorite. For those enjoying a three day weekend, Happy Labor Day!

Bow Guard

While walking around at the Indian Market I noticed this young man's Bow Guard. The leather matched the color of his hair but the color of that Turquoise stone on the bow guard really caught my eye.

Navajo Taco anyone?

While at the Indian Market we took a break for lunch and nothing like a Navajo Taco to get you through the day. My favorite is a Bean and Green Chile taco. On another not this weekend is Santa Fe's 400th Anniversary. This will "commemorate 400 years of culture from the establishment of the city as a "villa" in 1610 by the Spanish, through today. Proudly that makes us the Oldest Capital City in the United States!

Around your Neck.

Can you see yourself wearing this? This beautiful jewelery was made by Albuquerque artist Martine Lovato. There is something mystical about turquoise.

Hope Dolls and Rattles

These great dolls and rattles were created by Kara Honanie, a young artist from Hotevilla, Arizona. Great colors, so glad she made it to Indian Market so I had the chance to see her work.

Nizhoni Pottery

This is one of my favorite contemporary clay artists. Romaine Begay combines traditional Native American pottery with his contemporary pottery. I loved this wall piece.

Theme Day: Big, actually Jumbo

Today is Theme Day on City Daily Photo and the theme is Big. But really its Jumbo, Darrell Jumbo that is. Darrell is a Navajo jewelry artist who had some pretty amazing silver jewelry.
