Peaceful

One thing I really like about snow is the incredible silence. Even when walking through the middle of town everything seems so quite and peaceful.

Greenbelt?

Actually yes, but with all the snow you would never think people walk through here with their kids and pets. I may have to take another photo in the Spring.

And It Came Coming.

From early morning yesterday and all through the day it just kept on snowing. I took this shot just before sunset. Sorry Kate. Ready for the weekend? Have a good one everyone.

Bare Aspens

One of my new favorite trees especially in the fall. I also like the color of the trunks.

Oh No We're Not.

No these cute little ones we're in a shelter. I just happened to be walking past Louie's Corner Cafe again and these two were just haning out in the patio area waiting for their owners.

Found It!

Saturday seemed like Raven's day out. They were everywhere. This one found something to interesting on top of this building. Click for better look.

Going Outside

This is the Outside Plaza offices of Mariah Media who is the publisher of Outside Magazine. For anyone who is not familiar with Outside magazine it "targets readers who have an active lifestyle and enjoy outdoor sports, travel, and adventure."

Louie's Corner

There's a new cafe in town. Louie's Corner Cafe is a great spot to meet for a meal. A nice little casual place that has a "homemade everything" philosophy. I love the Dixie Chicken Sandwich.

And It Keeps On Coming

This was mild compared to later on in the day. Looking out my window at work I couldn't even see the building on the other side of the street. Time to break out the snow shoes!

End of the Day

At the end of the day there is nothing like a beautiful sunset. Whats better is seeing this after a long hectic work week. Have a great weekend everyone!

The Next Morning

The snow just keeps on coming. Today we're supposed to the the biggest of the three storms. Should be interesting.

At First Light

When I first woke up yesterday morning I looked out the window and there is was, snow, just like they forecasted. We had 8 inches in town and 33 inches on the Santa Fe Ski basin and theres more to come. Sorry Kate.

Blue Icicle

There was something about the light of the day that gave this icicle a blue tint. We might see more soon. Snow is in the forecast.

Showing Off

While looking around one day I noticed the branches on this tree. It was almost like it was showing off amongst others that were around it.

Before It Melted

A shot of the Sangre De Cristo mountains before all the snow went away. The foreground is not all that appealing bu the mountains were beautiful not too long ago.

Bare, Except For...

It's the last of my holiday photos that I forgot to post. While walking down by Canyon Road I saw something shining in this tree from far away. I just had to find out what it was.

Theme Day: Best Photo of 2009

How do you do it? Choose your best of the year that is. Photographing this city that I love made for a year of good photos for me (at least I thought so). So I decided on the horses that I like to go see every now and then that live up in the Truchas area. I just might have to take them an apple this weekend. Coming Soon

The Second Street Brewery is a place here in town that serves up some good food and beer. Looks like they are planning a second location in the building that houses the Farmers Market. And it will be within walking distance!

No, it just modeling a winter hat. Chapare, located in our Sanbusco Market Center specializes in South American imports. Looking for something colorful, this is the place.

Walking to the Station

Just A Little Left

It's been pretty cold but we've had no new snow, yet. What little is left are the areas that don't get too much sun. We could use the moisture but its made for a nice winter so far. Hope everyone has a good week.

One of One

If your into sewing crafts One on One is a good place to visit. Located in the Railyard its a great spot for some great ideas.

Cold Enough

Unfortunately its been much to cold to sit outside. This photo to me is a glimpse of hope for the future when the warm days come and everyone will be out enjoying the warmth of the sun.

El Parasol

If you ever visit Santa Fe and you want a good breakfast burrito or some good chicken tacos you have to try El Parasol. The green chili has a bite but it will wake you up in the morning. I just might have to go there tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!

Just a Little

Our snow is almost gone. I do love the way it looks on Adobe walls though. We're supposed to get another storm on Thursday. We'll see.

Ice Fish

I posted these fish last summer. But a few weeks ago we went to the Winter Spanish Market and I had to shoot the fish again in the snow.

Come On In

For the last several weeks there has been a Flea Market next to the Farmers market building. This old wooden horse could always been seen at the entrance.

My Wish

Peace, one of the things I think most people wish for every year. Would'nt it be nice if it came true. I found this plate in Taos on Christmas Eve.

Finding your Way

I almost forgot to post a photo from the annual Winter Solstice celebration at the Children's Museum. I love the labyrinth made of faralitos that the volunteers work to put together for the celebration.

Theme Day: Changes

First and foremost I want to wish you all, peace, love and happiness in the new year.

Today is the first day of the year and its also Theme day here at the City Daily Photo and today's theme is "Changes." I can get all philosophical about how things can change with the a new year but this photo is simply about how this sidewalk changes as you walk along.
