Ready for Winter

Most of the plants are ready for Winter to come sleeping until the next Spring comes.

Aging Red

I find it amazing that the colors of somethings seem to pop more as the item ages. While walk under this apple tree I was taking by the old red apples that remained on this tree.

Be Thankful for the Past.

Turquoise

This should be the state color you can find it everywhere. In a few months we will have Turquoise colored license plates to commemorate New Mexicos 100th year of being a state. I will bring you a photo of that in January when I come across the first one.

Adobe and Chile

Click on this one for a better view. Two things you will always find in New Mexico, Adobe walls and Chile hanging out the dry. Today I had my first taste of the New Mexican version of mashed potatoes and gravy, it was Pork in Red Chile instead of gravy served on mashed potatoes. Boy was it good!

Buddha with an Apple

This was outside of an artist studio in Dixon. This reminds me of the opening scene to a movie or maybe a story.

Over Here

While on a studio tour most of the artists had small flags. This artist chose something a little more artistic.

Looking in the Press

While at a studio opening, there were some guys making Apple Cider in a Cider Press. I like the colors in the remaining apple flesh.

After leaving the studio from yesterdays post. I came across this spot by the Chama river. I love this area.

Recently we went north to Abiquiu for the Studio Tour. At one of the stops one of the artist truck was parked just waiting for someone to take it for a spin.

This cross sits right in front of the Santuario de Chimayo. I thought it a fitting picture for a Sunday.

Hanging On

While in Dixon I was walking through an Apple orchard I noticed these two apples hanging on to this bare tree. Kind of feels like my week, just hanging on till Friday. Happy Weekend everyone.

Peaceful Moments

Nothing like sitting by a river and listening to the water flowing by. This was taken in Dixon last weekend during the art studio tour. I love finding spots like this.

Camelrock at Sunset

Click on this one for a better view. Just north of town sits Camelrock and as you will see it looks like a camel. While heading back into town over the weekend I saw this great sunset behind it while driving down the highway.

Strength

There is something about horses that I am drawn to. I think it is their strength. I refer to these three as my friends. They reside in Truchas, just north of Santa Fe. I try to go up and see them every now and then.

On the Road

I love the skies here in New Mexico. When I see clouds I like to head out on the road to see what the sky looks like away from the city. Wish I could do that today instead of going to work. But at least it will be a short week. Have a good one everyone!

Peaceful Fall

Since moving to Santa Fe I have been enjoying having four seasons that are truly visible. It has become my new favorite season.

Jimson Weed

I knew about this flower only as a Georgia O'Keeffe painting but I finally saw this one in person. It really is a beautiful flower.

Fall Shade of Red

Don't you just love the colors of fall. Spring flowers are nice but Fall colors are somehow a little warmer in feeling. Have a nice Fall weekend everyone.

There is nothing like a sunset with clouds.

Sea of Pumpkins

I almost forgot about this shot too. This was at last months Pumpkin festival. I had never seen so many pumpkins before so for me it was quite fun.

Sitting on the Cross

While walking near downtown past the San Miquel church I noticed this bird sitting on the cross. He sat there for the longest time. Probably watching me wondering "what the heck is that guy looking at?"

Graffiti Virgin

This image of the Virgin was painted down the wall from yesterdays doorway post. There were alot of things to see on that wall. I might even have another image for tomorrows post. Have a great week everyone.
