Bare Tree

This is probably one of the last bare trees. Most of the trees in the city have kicked it into Spring mode and are starting to bud. I love the way it looked next to this adobe wall.

A Tulip to start the week.

This tulip seemed to drink up the sunshine yesterday. I thought I would post something of beauty to start the week off.

Parts Unknown is a common saying in alot of Western movies. In these Unkown Parts all you'll find is clothing. This store is near the plaza downtown.

This sign sits outside of the the Atomic Grill in downtown Santa Fe. I just might have to try it this weekend.

Plaza with bare trees

Happy Earth Day everyone. This is a shot of the Santa Fe plaza, the heart of the city. The trees are bare now but soon they will be green and full of leaves.

Trees waiting for Spring

There are some trees in town that have leaves now but it seems that the cold weather has made others wait a little longer for Spring.

Flower Power

This is a great exhibit at the New Mexico Museum of Art. All kinds of flowers from an Andy Warhol to a bomb.

This sculpture of a Native Dance is in the entry way of a gallerie/office complex in the downtown area.

Spring is here or is it?

By looking at this tree you know Spring is here. But yesterday we had snow most of the morning. Thank goodness it didn't stay on the ground. We're supposed to warm up to about the 70's today. Have a great weekend everyone.

Woof

This license plate belongs to someone who is a dog sitter here in Santa Fe. I thought it was a cute plate.

This is a great bar to grab a drink and listen to some good music. Looks like this woman is interested in the line up posted on the window.

Cafe Paris

Cafe Paris is the only business that sits in Burro Ally. I have not eaten there yet so I can't give you a review. It is on the list of places to try.

This example of primitive rock art is on one of the walls that line Burro Alley from yesterdays post.

Burro Alley

Burro alley is a public only street next to the Lensic theater. Once the city’s bawdy nightlife district, featuring cantinas, saloon and gambling establishments (and also home to “ladies of the night”), ironically, this tiny street is named for the burros that carried firewood to be sold there.

April Snow

I have heard of April Showers but Snow! We were expecting rain yesterday but by 3 pm it turned to a snow shower. It was a little warm earlier but as the evening came the snow started to stay on the ground.

Lensic

This is the Lensic Perfoming Arts Center in the downtown area. They have everything from Dance and Music.

Walkway to Cross of the Martyrs

This is the walkway to get up to the Cross of the Martyrs. There are station with plaques explaining some of the history of Santa Fe.

Waiting for Spring

I love some of the tree here in the winter. Their branches look almost black. This one with the orange leaves still in it from fall is probably ready for Spring to bring forth its first buds.

Cross of the Martyrs

During the 1680 Pueblo Revolt, 21 Franciscan Friars died in the fight between the natives and the Spanish. A single white cross sits on a terraced hill overlooking Santa Fe to honor those holy men.

Gated Courtyard

This courtyard is in the downtown area. Once again I was attracted to the gate. Its not old but decorative.

Old Gate

Wild Sculpture

This sculpture made our of rebar was just down the road from the weaving school. How would you like to have something like this in your garden?

Santa Fe School of Weaving

Never been and I can't weave a blanket, but I am sure if I go here I could have a rug ready for Christmas. I pass by this school quite a bit. I love all of the bright colors.

Sky Reflection

This is one picture of the downtown plaza area on San Francisco street. I mostly shot it for the reflection of the sky in the windows. There were some great clouds out and about.
